Gordon Ramsay has challenged Bobby Flay to a ''cook-off''.

The two celebrity chefs are to battle it out later this year on live television after the latter culinary legend previously refused to compete with the British food critic.

Speaking at Vegas Uncork'd on Monday (02.05.16) the 'F Word' star, 49, said: ''Should I let you in on a little secret?

''At the end of the year, we're going to go and do a throw-down. We're going to do the most amazing live cook-off against a chef that I've grown up with and admired for many years, but he keeps refusing to go up against me. You may not have heard of him, but his name is Bobby Flay.''

The outspoken chef is excited and plans to be victorious.

He added: ''I do love the guy. I just can't wait to beat his ass.''

The pair have been rivals ever since March 2013, when Gordon claimed he could ''out-cook Bobby.

At the time, he said: ''That's why I laugh when they say, 'Let's see if he's a real chef. Let's get him up against Bobby Flay on Iron Chef.

''I'm like, f***ing do me a favour ... come on. I've forgotten more than he's known!''

The 51-year-old star - famous for 'The Iron Chef America' - took to social media to challenge his rival to a cooking showdown after he heard his remarks.

He tweeted: ''Let's settle this like men, in the kitchen! No words, just knives. Show up or shut up. (sic)''

Bobby is yet to accept Gordon's ''cook-off'' challenge.
