Reports claim the Brazilian supermodel is ready to hang up the high heels for good, in order to spend more time with her family.
She’s strutted her stuff on the catwalk for some of the world’s biggest designers, but Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bundchen is reportedly calling it quits on her runway career and will retire next month during São Paulo Fashion Week.
Gisele is reportedly ready to leave the runway
According to Brazilian news website Estadao the 34-year-old will end her catwalk career on April 20th when she model’s for Brazilian brand Colcci during their São Paulo Fashion Week show. The website reports the model had always planned to end her catwalk career in her native Brazil, which is where she began her modelling career aged 14.
But while her runway career might be over, Gisele will reportedly continue to appear in campaigns and fashion spreads and is still under contract for Under Armour and Chanel. The model has spent the last eight years as the world's highest paid supermodel and was said to have raked in $47 million in 2013 alone.
The Brazillian beauty is thought to have decided to take a step back from the runway in order to spend more time with her husband quarterback Tom Brady and their two children. Bundchen married the Patriots star in 2005 and the couple are parents to son Benjamin and daughter Vivian.
Bundchen’s most famous runway gig was as a Victoria's Secret Angel during the brand's annual fashion shows. After debuting for the label in 1999 she eventually made more than eight catwalk appearances as one of the brand's iconic ‘angels’, even getting to wear their Fantasy Bra on two occasions, in 2000 and 2005.
