Will there be another case for Mulder and Scully? Fox hopes so! Fox Chairman Gary Newman announced on Saturday (17th January) that the network is considering rebooting The X-Files. The announcement was made by Fox at the Television Critics Association press tour in Pasadena, California.

"It's true that we've had some conversations on X-Files. We're hopeful of being able to bring that back at some point," Newman said, as the Mail reports. It was also confirmed David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson, who starred in The X-Files, are set to reprise their roles if a reboot goes ahead.
The X-Files which followed FBI Special Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully, played by Duchovny and Anderson, as they traversed the US solving paranormal and extra terrestrial cases. The show aired on Fox between 1993 and 2002 and the franchise even spawned two feature films.
The X-Files is not the only show Fox is considering reviving. Fox are considering ordering another series of 24, following the 12 part 24: Live Another Day in 2014, which will not centre on Kiefer Sutherland's character Jack Bauer. Another series may be under consideration and further seasons also appear to be a possibility as Dana Walden, another Fox executive, promised the show would remain centred on Jack Bauer. Prison Break was also mentioned but Newman stated the news surrounding a revival was simply rumour based but he would be glad to see the show on the network again. "We would bring Prison Break back in a heartbeat," Newman said as Variety reports.
