Gerard Butler has been named brand ambassador for Hugo Boss Perfums.

The '300' star has teamed up with the luxury label to appear in the 'Boss Bottled' fragrance print and TV campaigns which will be revealed by the brand this autumn, reports WWD.

The German fashion house has snapped up Gerard to appear exclusively in the ads - which mark his modelling debut for the label - as the 44-year-old actor embodies the ''belief'' behind the fragrance.

Global marketing director of Boss Parfums, Guillaume Tardy said: ''Boss Bottled remains loyal to the belief that success comes to the man who grasps life with confidence.

''Gerard Butler is that man. His road to success is a constant, ever-evolving journey, but one that he approaches with confidence and drive.''

Meanwhile, the Scottish hunk - who recently reprised his role of Stoick the Vast in the hit Dreamworks Animation 'How to Train Your Dragon 2' - has revealed that the film's animators incorporated his characteristics into the movie by observing his actions and even lent his voice to the character.

Talking on US chat show, 'Late Night with Seth Meyers', he said: ''They put cameras all over the room when you're doing it and then they animate a lot of the parts with how you move and how you move your face.

''I've seen some examples of me doing this thing and in the movie it was exactly the same. Then you realise its pretty cool, and there was a lot of your mannerisms. I don't look like Stoick but I see in the parts where he's being idiotic and lost.''
