George Clooney has arrived at his wedding by speedboat.

The 53-year-old actor - who is set to marry human rights lawyer Amal Alamuddin, 36, this evening (27.09.14) - waved to onlookers as he jetted to the seven-star Aman Hotel in Venice, Italy, at the back of a flotilla of water taxis crammed with a host of celebrity guests.

The 'Ocean's Eleven' star looked handsome in a black tuxedo and was joined at the luxury hotel by U2 singer Bono and his wife Ali Hewson, Cindy Crawford and her husband, Clooney's business partner Rande Gerber, Matt Damon and his wife Luciana, John Krasinski and Emily Blunt, Bill Murray, and Vogue editor Anna Wintour.

Although his bride was absent from the procession, George was also accompanied by Amal's parents Ramzi and Baria, his father Nick and his mother Nina.

According to the New York Post newspaper's Page Six column, the star was in high spirits as he headed to the destination even shouting to a member of the crowd when they asked if his wedding was ''really happening?''

He replied: ''Yeah, right now!''

It is thought tonight's nuptials will be the first of two ceremonies with another civil ceremony taking place in the city on Monday.
