The film is breaking down gender barriers in Hollywood like never before.
Patty Jenkins can rest assured that she's done a fantastic job in the Director's Chair for the latest DC Extended Universe movie release, 'Wonder Woman', as the Gal Gadot-led film has now topped $300 million in the US box office alone. It's an incredible score for the Amazonian Princess' first big screen solo flick, which took in $223 million globally across its opening weekend alone, marking the best opening weekend of all-time for a female director.
Gal Gadot helps 'Wonder Woman' storm past $300 million in the US
Whilst 'Cars 3' snuck past the film in North America last weekend, the movie still picked up enough money to take it past the $300 million mark this week, with 'Wonder Woman' making $7.3 million on Friday alone to storm past the incredible milestone. When ticket sales come in later today for the rest of the weekend, the film is expected to be closer to the $320 million mark.

Gal Gadot's earnings for 'Wonder Woman', despite being a smash hit, are reportedly only $300,000.
Much has been (rightly) made of the runaway success of current box office smash Wonder Woman over the last couple of weeks, having made more than $500 million in the U.S. and on the verge of becoming one of the ten highest-grossing superhero movies of all time. Not to mention its symbolic significance in representing a breakthrough for women at the highest echelons of the film industry.
Making it all the more surprising then, that its lead star Gal Gadot was paid a comparatively paltry sum of $300,000 – and adding new fuel to the debate over the gender pay gap in Hollywood as a result.
Gal Gadot reportedly was only paid $300k for 'Wonder Woman'

Patty Jenkins' superhero movie has highest domestic opening weekend for a female director.
It was only appropriate that a superhero movie as empowering as 'Wonder Woman' would be directed by a woman, and now Patty Jenkins has managed to make history with her film having the largest opening weekend ever for a female director. It's an important moment for feminism in the media.
Chris Pine and Gal Gadot in 'Wonder Woman'
'Wonder Woman' flew effortlessly to the top of the box office over the weekend and grossed $100.5 million in domestic ticket sales. It easily beat the previous record holder, 'Fifty Shades of Grey' directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson, which earned a comparatively meagre $85.2 million in its opening weekend.

Reports suggest that Lebanon wants to ban 'Wonder Woman' from the country because its lead star, Gal Gadot, is Israeli, in accordance with a decades-old law boycotting Israeli products.
Lebanon is seeking to ban the upcoming Warner Bros. superhero movie Wonder Woman from the country on the grounds that its lead actress, Gal Gadot, is Israeli.
The state of Lebanon is at war with Israel, and has a law that boycotts all Israeli products and prevents its citizens from having any kind of contact with Israelis and from travelling there.
Arab News reports that a local source says the ministry of economy in Lebanon is seeking to “take the necessary measures” to prevent the DC Universe film from being screened there.

The actress collaborated closely with director Patty Jenkins.
To-date, fans of DC's Extended Universe have been given Superman-centric film 'Man Of Steel', which was followed up with 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' and the villain-focused third entry, 'Suicide Squad'. Though none of the three made a great mark with the critics, they still made big bucks in the box office, with 'Wonder Woman' now set to land as the fourth instalment.
Gal Gadot takes on the titular role in 'Wonder Woman'
Early reactions from those who have been lucky enough to see screenings ahead of official release have been great, with Gadot's performance and director Patty Jenkins' work at the helm especially earning a brilliant response. But what will we see of the character in the flick? Will she be evolved from the colder Wonder Woman we saw in 'Batman v Superman', who was close to giving up on humanity?

The European premiere of 'Wonder Woman' in London next week has been called off in the wake of the Manchester terror attacks.
Warner Bros. has cancelled the scheduled red carpet premiere of Wonder Woman in London next week, following the terror attack at an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester.
The studio announced the news on Wednesday (May 24th), a week ahead of the planned red carpet affair in Leicester Square on May 31st for its European premiere. It is due to open in the U.K. on June 1st, and on the following day in the States.
“Our thoughts are with those affected by the recent tragedy in the U.K.,” Warner Bros. said in a statement to Deadline. “In light of the current situation, we will not be proceeding with our plans for the Wonder Woman premiere and junket activities in London.”
The DC Extended Universe instalment is right around the corner.
As all eyes are on the MTV Movie & TV Awards tonight, those watching will be treated to a first look at an assortment of movies coming out this summer and beyond, with one of the visual feasts looking set to be the final trailer for the upcoming DC Extended Universe flick, 'Wonder Woman'.
Chris Pine and Gal Gadot lead the new superhero movie
Led by Gal Gadot in the titular role alongside Chris Pine as love interest Steve Rogers, with Patty Jenkins in the Director's Chair, the flick will be hoping to end the curse of bad critical reviews that the first trilogy of films ('Man Of Steel', 'Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice' and 'Suicide Squad') received upon their release. With just under a month to go until the movie hits cinemas, a final trailer could drop at any minute, and it looks like it'll be premiered tonight (May 7) at the MTV Awards ceremony.

The Head of DC Films wouldn't let anything slip at WonderCon.
As the DC Extended Universe aims to prove it can be a major success not only with those filling out movie theatre seats - but with critics who panned the first three movies of the franchise - will come the release of 'Wonder Woman' a little later this year, starring Gal Gadot in the leading titular role.

Finally getting her own solo movie, the Amazonian Princess will traverse through three distinct time periods alongside fellow iconic comic book character Steve Trevor, played by Chris Pine. Patty Jenkins directs the flick, as we first go through an Amazonian origin story for the superhero before moving into the First World War and finally, a modern day adventure that could serve to set up the events that will take place in this year's 'Justice League' film. Split into three wholly-different acts, the movie's sure to tick a lot of boxes for those watching.

In the wake of his friend Clark Kent's monumental sacrifice, Bruce Wayne and Diana Prince are determined to recruit the most powerful superheroes on the planet to help them fight a new menace that Lex Luthor predicted was coming to the Earth. They are the intrepid Arthur Curry or Aquaman, king of the sea; the young but lightning-fast Barry Allen, also known as The Flash; and the half-man half-machine known as Victor Stone or Cyborg. Together they must fight an army of parademons that have descended upon them, apparently in search of the Mother Box that transformed Victor Stone into the biomechanical creature he is. They are serving the villainous extra-terrestrial Steppenwolf, who will stop at nothing to get what he wants and take over the world. But as you can probably work out, these heroes have an advantage in that Superman is far from dead as they initially suspected.

A wonderful year for female movie icons.
This year has been a really strong year for the development of female film roles in Hollywood. We are quickly moving away from gender stereotypes and incorporating qualities of real life everyday women, as well as real life once-in-while-women whose impact on human history are becoming more and more prevalent.
Here are our favourite female film characters from 2016:
1. Wonder Woman ('Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice')
Rich Cline talks us through some of the most anticipated movies for release in 2017.
As always, there are far too many sequels, spin-offs, remakes and reboots clogging the cinemas, but hopefully they'll be better than 2016's lacklustre batch. (Release dates are subject to change.)
Star Wars: Episode Viii - Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill continue the saga (Dec). More sci-fi sequels worth waiting for: the gang reteams for more space antics in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 (May), Michael Fassbender returns for Alien: Covenant (May), and Harrison Ford is back for Blade Runner 2049 (Oct).

“What are you even doing? I wish to God you were forced to live out of a car until you made a #1 movie of the year. Maybe Wonder Woman wouldn't be such a mess,” the anonymous letter read.
After debuting at Comic Con over the weekend the extra-long Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice trailer is finally online.
A new full length trailer for the highly anticipated Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice has just hit online, offering fans their best look yet at the upcoming clash between the two comic book titans. Debuting at Comic Con this weekend the trailer was well received by fans who found plenty to talk about including Jesse Eisenberg's menacing Lex Luthor.
The nearly four minute trailer showcases Ben Affleck's Batman and Henry Cavill's Superman, while also heavily featuring Eisenberg as the villainous Luther. It also offers our first real look at Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman and Jeremy Irons as butler Alfred Pennyworth, while also including Holly Hunter, Laurence Fishburne, Diane Lane and Amy Adams as Lois Lane.
When an alien lifeform crashed to Earth decades ago, no one noticed. When his own kind came after him, the fate of the world was threatened. When he saved mankind, they looked up to him like a God. But times have changed, and people have died since his arrival. The world has had enough of the "false God" Superman (Henry Cavill), but there is already another hero in the world. In Gotham City, Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) has spent years and billions of dollars making himself into the greatest detective and the finest crime fighter. But the Batman knows that one does not simply arrive to a thunderous applause. He has earned his role as judge and jury, and it is up to him to stop the Man of Steal.
Batman and Superman go head to head in the new trailer for 'Dawn of Justice'.
The first trailer for the DC crossover movie 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' has finally arrived - and it's difficult to tell who's most formidable, despite the fact that one superhero has earned his power, and the other was gifted at birth.
'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' is coming next year
Zack Snyder is returning with the sequel to 2013's Superman adventure 'Man Of Steel', and it's our first taste of The Justice League as they hit theaters for the first time. While the plot remains unknown, we can gather that the world has become disillusioned with Clark Kent (Henry Cavill); mistrusting of him given humanity's history with power and corruption, and fearful that their faiths are being questioned.
Zack Synder has shared the real version of 'Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice' after a pirated version, filmed on a mobile phone, leaks online.
Director Zack Synder did not despair when the exclusive trailer of Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice was leaked online on Thursday. The grainy footage, shot on a mobile phone camera, immediately went viral and certainly did not do justice to the true version.

The upcoming superhero movie stars Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman.
Director Michelle MacLaren has left the upcoming Wonder Woman movie, due to what’s been described as ‘creative differences’. The director was set to helm the superhero flick which is due out in 2017 and stars Gal Gadot in the title role.
Gal Gadot will play Wonder Woman in the now director-less movie.
“Given creative differences, Warner Bros. and Michelle MacLaren have decided not to move forward with plans to develop and direct Wonder Woman together,” the studio said in a statement. No further details on what could have cause the split have been given, but The Hollywood Reporter has drawn comparisons to Patty Jenkins leaving Marvel’s Thor 2 in 2011.
Eisenberg has gone bald for Zack Snyder’s upcoming superhero film.
In a year from now we’ll probably be queuing outside a movie theatre eagerly awaiting our first viewing of Zack Snyder’s Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. But for now, we’re just making do with whatever scraps of information we can get on the upcoming superhero epic. So after months of speculation about the state of cast member Jesse Eisenberg’s hair, today we’ve been given our first official look at the actor as the bald supervillain, Lex Luthor.
'Game Of Thrones' star looks forbidding in Zack Snyder's first image.
Fans were given a first look at the forthcoming film incarnation of Aquaman, with director Zack Snyder reveals just how menacing Jason Momoa will be as the sea-dwelling DC Comics superhero as 'Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice' gets well under way.
Jason Momoa is Aquaman
It's all about DC at the moment with Henry Cavill's Superman having become a huge hit in 2013's 'Man Of Steel' and 'Fast And Furious' star Gal Gadot being announced as Wonder Woman in Michelle MacLaren's upcoming movie. Zack Snyder is bringing them all together in a long-awaited DC superhero crossover movie entitled 'Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice', and 'Game Of Thrones' star Jason Momoa is just the latest announcement for the cast - as fish-friendly King of Atlantis, Aquaman.
‘Wonder Woman’ finally has a director and what’s more, she seems like a perfect fit.
After weeks of speculation Michelle MacLaren has been confirmed as the director for the upcoming Wonder Woman movie starring Gal Gadot. According to Entertainment Weekly, the Emmy award winning 'Breaking Bad' director has now officially signed on the helm the superhero flick which is due for release in 2017.
Michelle MacLaren may have found her movie project in the form of the Wonder Woman movie.
Michelle MacLaren, the producer and director on Breaking Bad, is in negotiations to direct the Wonder Woman spin-off movie, starring Gal Gadot. The Warner Bros DC Comics movie has a tentative release date on June 23, 2017.
MIchelle MacLaren [R] is likely to helm the Wonder Woman movie
Plot details for Wonder Woman remain scarce, mainly because Gadot's character will make her first appearance in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which opens in March 2016. It's likely that the events of that movie - which also stars Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck - will likely determine the angle of the standalone film.

Warner Bros is going big on DC Comics movies, right up until 2020.
In a huge announcement of forthcoming releases, Warner Bros has bet big on DC Comics-branded movies to follow its marquee release of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in 2015. That movie, starring Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck, will be followed by The Flash with Ezra Miller, Aquaman starring Jason Momoa and a Wonder Woman movie with Gal Gadot.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will start a slew of comic-book movies from Warner Bros over the next six years
Gadot was the surprise choice for the female role in Dawn of Justice though Warners are clearly buoyed by the Israeli actress's performances in the forthcoming movie. Maybe Marvel should take note and finally announce a Black Widow movie with Scarlett Johansson.

Are Scoot McNairy socks a green screen for The Flash? Or just a weird fashion statement?
With Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman all making solid appearances in 2016's 'Batman v Superman' movie, we can't help but wonder who else will be joining the Justice League. Right now, our bets are on Scoot McNairy as The Flash.
Scoot McNairy to play The Flash?
The casting announcements for Zack Snyder's 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' have been both thoroughly exciting and extremely surprising. Of course, we knew Henry Cavill would return as the Man of Steel, we spent hours pondering who could play Wonder Woman before Gal Gadot was chosen and we were pleased on the announcement of Ben Affleck taking over Christian Bale as the Dark Knight. Rumours are still circulating that Jason Momoa might be joining the team as Aquaman, but the thing we're most excited for at the moment are recent whispers of Scoot McNairy taking on The Flash.
Batman v Superman has been brought forward, to avoid a battle with 'Captain America 3'.
Warner Bros has brought forward Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice - the follow-up to Man of Steel with Ben Affleck playing the Caped Crusader - to March 25, 2016. The movie had previously been set to open on May 6, 2016 - the same day as Marvel's 'Captain America 3'.
In truth, those dates were never going to remain fixed and it was Warner Bros that decided to make the first move (though it's likely the studios came to a mutual agreement). The studio has also revealed plans to release new DC Comics-based movies on August 5, 2016, June 23, 2017, November 17, 2017, March 23, 2018, July 27, 2018, April 5, 2019, June 14, 2019, April 3, 2020 and June 19, 2020.

Your weekly dose of Justice League news. With the release date two years away, Warner are beginning the steady stream of teasers.
Hello, remember that ill-advised attempt at a Justice League franchise Warner Bros. is still pushing at? If so, then you may be interested in seeing a sneak peek at Henry Cavill, being his Supermanliest in the upcoming movie. The photo comes almost two months after director/Hollywood golden boy Zack Snyder tweeted the first picture of an oh-so-moody Ben Affleck as Batman. This time, it’s an oh-so-moody Cal-El. Check out the photo below.
The cast of the 2016 movie - and a possible "Justice League" - is shaping up.
It has been confirmed: DC now has its Aquaman and it’s none other than Jason Momoa. The news that Momoa will play the DC Comics superhero Aquaman in both the upcoming Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice, and its sequel Justice League was confirmed by Variety, after months of heavy speculation.
Momoa cleverly brushed off the Aquaman rumors, right until his contract was confirmed.
Back in December, it was reported that Momoa was in talks to play Aquaman, in addition to the already announced main cast, which includes Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor (that announcement raised a fair few eyebrows) and Jeremy Irons as Alfred.
In the battle of the superheroes, Marvel are currently an evil genius.
An official, standalone Justice League movie has been confirmed. It will follow 2016’s hugely anticipated battle between Batman and Superman in what has been dubbed either ‘Man of Steel 2’ or ‘Batman v Superman’, set to commence in 2016.
Henry Cavill as Superman in 'Man of Steel'
Zack Snyder will pilot the project, which kicks off an important period for Warner Bros in the Superhero space. Marvel’s dominance of the genre is plain to see, with The Avengers breaking box office records and finding itself in illustrious, billion-dollar company amongst the all time box office grossers list.
The actor has a minor part in Batman Vs. Superman, to be expanded later in the series.
The Batman vs. Superman movie casting may have had comic book fans on the brink of desperation up until now, but it looks like Zack Snyder and Co. may have gotten one thing right. Meet your new Cyborg – Ray Fisher. Now, Fisher is primarily a stage actor, although that has been known to work for past superhero movies and he has been cast as Victor Stone. That’s all we know at this point, according to Variety. Early reports claimed that Fisher was being considered for a part in Snyder's Star Wars Episode VII, but it looks like he was transferred to another big-budget Snyder production.
Fisher's background is mostly theatrical.
The character has a minor role in Batman vs. Superman, but this casting and Fisher’s appearance are intended to pave the way for future appearances by the superhero within the Justice League franchise that Warner Bros. is setting up for. A little background on Cyborg: the character made his first appearance in 1980's "DC Comics Presents" #26. In the "New 52" continuity, he's a high school athlete who, after getting caught in a S.T.A.R. Labs explosion, is given powerful bionic abilities that lead to him becoming a founding member of the Justice League.

The multiple movie deal could mean two solo Wonder Woman outings in addition to 'Batman Vs. Superman.'
Gal Gadot has signed to play superhero Wonder Woman for three movies, confirms Variety. The Israeli actress and model has been cast in the iconic comic book role by DC Comics and Warner Bros. and will first appear in Zack Snyder's upcoming 2016 hero face-off, which is currently titled Batman Vs. Superman.
Gal Gadot Has Signed To Play Wonder Woman For Three Movies.
28 year-old Gadot will bring Wonder Woman to the big screen for the first time alongside Henry Cavill, who'll reprise his Superman role, as well as the recently-cast Ben Affleck as Batman. Gal's three picture deal will reportedly be fulfilled with a Justice League movie and a Wonder Woman standalone film.
The 'Superman vs. Batman' movie has been put on hold for 9 months
It seems as though we'll have to wait a bit longer to see Ben Affleck in tight spandex pants, sharing screen time with Henry Cavill's equally tight spandex pants. DC were looking to launch their own multi-hero film franchise with the release of the Man of Steel sequel, working under the title of 'Superman vs. Batman,' in July 2015, however a recent announcement from the studio has said we'll have to wait a little longer.
The first Man of Steel was a hit and the sequel promises to be even bigger
Warner Brothers revealed on Friday (17 Jan.) - via The Hollywood Reporter - that it planned on holding back on the Man of Steel sequel until 6 May, 2016, with the studio's prequel of Peter Pan - titled Pan - replacing the initially planned 17 July, 2015, release date. The studio did not give any reason as to why the films were trading release dates, however has been suggested that Warner Bros. wanted a May release for the superhero film owing to the month's tendency to yield higher box office returns in recent years.

The actor could be set to appear in a superhero action movie.
Joaquin Phoenix could be the next actor to be announced for the upcoming Batman Vs. Superman movie, scheduled for 2015. The movie will see Henry Cavill's Superman and Ben Affleck's Batman go head-to-head for the first time on film. If the rumour is confirmed, Phoenix will join Cavill and Affleck as well as Amy Adams' Lois Lane and Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman.
Could Joaquin Phoenix Play Lex Luthor?
Fans of the 39 year-old Walk The Line actor won't be used to seeing Phoenix star in such big-name, huge budget action blockbusters which means the Batman Vs. Superman movie will be an intriguing change of role for the reclusive star. According to sources speaking to Variety, Phoenix is being linked to the movie as the film's antagonist, probably Lex Luthor.

Dom, Brian and Mia may be living it up with $100 million dollars in their back pockets, but living the fast life hasn't been entirely beneficial as a hole in the lives has been left by the fact that they cannot return home after the trouble they got in with the law. When DSS agent Luke Hobbs approaches Dom to ask for his help nabbing a gang of highly-trained drivers who are leaving a trail of destruction everywhere they go, Dom is less than tempted by the offer. However, when Hobbs shows him a week old photograph of Dom's former love Letty who he thought was dead, he takes on the job with his friends, determined to find out the truth even if it's the last thing he wants to hear. In return for the capture of this gang of road miscreants, the trio are offered a full pardon for their own crimes. For the record, Rob Cohen's The Fast and the Furious -- which took the name from a 1955 Roger Corman racing flick, and updated the master's exploitation bent with well-deployed studio gloss -- was a perfectly enjoyable piece of work. Throwing squadrons of neon-colored muscle cars and a still-trying Vin Diesel into the middle of an overheated potboiler drama about family honor and loyalty turned out to be a genius stroke; the thing left scorch marks. It moved with the skillful speed of well-honed pulp. By contrast, the near-laughable Fast & Furious (directed by Justin Lin, who did the honors on the last installment, Tokyo Drift) tries far too hard and achieves very little.
