Gail Simmons kept her pregnancy private while filming 'Top Chef: New Orleans.' But the new mom is proud to announce the birth of her daughter Dahlia.
It's a girl for Top Chef's Gail Simmons! The food show judge and her husband Jeremy Abrams welcomed their first child on Sunday, Dec. 29, according to People.

"Dahlia weighed 7 lbs., 3 oz.," Simmons' rep told the magazine. "Mother, father and baby are doing wonderfully."
The gender of the baby was a surprise to everyone, even the parents! The couple decided to wait until Dahlia was born.
"We’d like it to be a surprise," Simmons said back in September. "We have some of the nursery done, but we’re going to wait until [we find out] who this little nugget is."
And the first time mom was pleasantly surprised by the easy of her pregnancy, telling People back in October, "I really can’t complain. It’s been amazing."
"I feel great and I have lots of energy. I still have a few months left, and then the actual parenting begins!"

Simmons is more than just a judge on Top Chef, she is also the special projects manager for Food and Wine Magazine. Although Top Chef: New Orleans came back from the holiday break on Wednesday (January 1), it was filmed months ago. Simmons told USA Today back in September she kept her news quiet during filming.
"The chefs didn't know I was pregnant," the 37-year-old told USA Today in September. "I was very newly pregnant when we shot and it was no one's business. And I wasn't showing so it didn't matter. It really wasn't an issue. I was worried it would be, but it wasn't a problem."
Congrats to the new parents!
