Freida Pinto keeps her skin moisturised with yogurt.

The 'Slumdog Millionaire' actress swears by homemade beauty remedies passed down from her mother including applying natural yogurt on dehydrated skin and keeping her scalp healthy with coconut oil.

She said: ''One piece of advice she gave me was to apply yogurt on my dry skin. Also, in India we practice a lot of head massage with coconut oil. I don't know if it's good for hair, but it's wonderfully relaxing. Sometimes I do it just to remember those tender moments with my mother.''

The striking star believes beauty starts from within so tries to take care of her body with juice cleanses and alleviates stress thanks to regular exercise and massage sessions.

Freida explained in an interview with Britain's HELLO! Magazine: ''Beets and carrot juice are a great way to cleanse the system and purge unwanted toxins from the body, which ultimately leads to healthy-looking skin.

''From the outside a glycolic peel or microdermabrasion under the strict guidance of a good dermatologist is useful. Exercise is important and a good way to de-stress. Massage is also very relaxing and being relaxed is great for overall wellbeing and health.''
