Kurt Cobain's widow spoke about the experience of watching the new documentary 'Montage of Heck', currently on a limited theatrical release before its TV premiere next month.
Courtney Love has described watching the new documentary ‘Cobain: Montage of Heck’ with her daughter Frances as a “very healing” experience.
Love was left widowed with an infant daughter after Nirvana’s Kurt Cobain committed suicide in 1994. In an interview with V Magazine, the Hole singer said “To see [the movie] in that room with my daughter was very cathartic and I was very happy to spend a little time with him and to find out, to see things and hear audio, and see into his heart.”

Ahead of the release of the highly anticipated documentary Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck, about the Nirvana frontman, Cobain’s daughter Frances Bean has spoken to Rolling Stone magazine about her personal feelings of growing up and being aware of her father’s legend.
Born in 1992, Frances is the only daughter of Cobain and Hole singer Courtney Love. Now 22 years old and a visual artist, she was named as one of the executive producers of the Brett Morgen-directed documentary late last year.

Home movies of the Nirvana legend are featured in this amazing movie.
Some of Kurt Cobain's happiest moments are depicted in the new trailer for the first authorised documentary of his life 'Cobain: Montage Of Heck'; a collection of home movies and never before seen footage directed by Brett Morgen and executively produced by Frances Bean.
Kurt Cobain's life story comes to life in 'Montage of Heck'
While his early life saw the late Kurt Cobain as a happy-go-lucky child with a profound creative talent, the years following his parents' divorce were nothing short of tempestuous for the young musician. Though still hungry for music, songwriting and drawing, Cobain developed struggles with anger and rejection throughout his teenage years, setting him up for a success that would ultimately bring about his downfall. And while it seemed his astonishing success with grunge pioneers Nirvana in the 90s was a high point in his life, not to mention his relationship with Courtney Love and the birth of their daughter Frances, it only led to a tragic end.

The movie has been executively produced by the Nirvana frontman's 22-year-old daughter Frances Bean and marks the very first authorized documentary on the grunge legend, who tragically took his own life at the peak of Nirvana fame in 1994. The first image is a haunting painting of the singer walking away from a blue, wooden panelled house surrounded by trees, as the dull, dark grey sky bears down on him.
The first authorized Kurt Cobain documentary will draw upon the musician's personal home videos, drawings, recordings, photography and journals.
Frances Bean Cobain is to produce the first fully-authorised documentary of her late father, the Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain. Directed by Brett Morgen (Crossfire Hurricane), Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck will have full use of Cobain's archives, recordings, artwork, photography, journals, songbooks and home videos.

We thought we'd dedicate this week's round-up to the celebrities who may want to lay low for a while.
Lana Del Rollercoaster: Lana Del Rey has had a week she'll never forget. The pop star's new album, Ultraviolence, has been met with positivity by critics and has earned Del Rey her first Billboard 200 number one. However, the singer's album publicity has risked being blighted by certain comments Lana made in a recent interview in which she appears to glamorise the troubling trend of musicians dying young. Decide for yourself here. Kurt Cobain's daughter, Frances Bean, lashed out at Lana over her words. Find out what went down.
Gary Oldman Blunder: Silly, silly Gary Oldman. The actor has earned himself a reputation as one of Hollywood's thinkers but his thoughts on political correctness caused a stir this week. In a Playboy interview, the 56 year-old referenced Mel Gibson's infamous 2006 run-in with the police where he voiced an anti-Semitic view. In an attempt to play down Gibson's words, Oldman ended up sounding an awful lot more anti-Semitic than his fellow actor. Find out what was said. Oldman did release an apology, which can be read here.
Her album's success hasn't been tainted by a little negative press recently.
Lana Del Rey has managed to land her first album to top the Billboard 200 with her new release, Ultraviolence. The follow-up to 2012's well-received Born To Die, the album, which was released June 17, sold 182,000 in the week ending June 22, according to Nielsen SoundScan, via Billboard.
The figure represents her best sales week yet and also the largest sales week for a female artist since the week ending Dec. 29, 2013, when Beyonce's self-titled a surprise release shifted 310,000 copies in its third week in the charts.
Although Born To Die was a commercial and critical success that put Del Rey firmly on the pop map, the highest position it could manage in the chart was second with 77,000 sold in its first week ending 5th February 2012. However, the album has since proven its longevity by surpassing one million sales as of February this year.

Lana Del Rey has claimed she was duped into answering leading questions about Kurt Cobain in a recent interview with a British newspaper.
Lana Del Rey has made amends with Frances Bean Cobain.
In a recent interview with the Guardian, Del Rey discussed her musical idols including Amy Winehouse and Kurt Cobain. She reportedly said "I wish I was dead already," a remark which prompted Cobain to point out her own personal tragedy. Cobain was less than two years old when her father Kurt died at the age of 27.
Lana Del Rey has announced her split from her boyfriend of nearly three years, former Kassidy band member Barrie James O'Neill. Del Rey has also been under fire (again) for her reported comments on dying young in a recent interview.
It's not been a good week for Lana Del Rey. The Ultraviolence artist has separated from Scottish singer Barrie James O'Neill and has been seriously chastised by Frances Bean Cobain owing to Del Rey's comments about her father's death.

She continued to vaguely explain the reasons behind their split which apparently result from O'Neill's unspecified issues. She said "He is a wonderful person. But there are some things which he has to deal with. I will not explain in detail. This was hard on our relationship, I no longer felt free."

In a conversation discussing Lana's heroes, including Kurt Cobain and Amy Winehouse, who happen to be dead, Lana revealed her disenchantment with fame and attraction to death. "I wish I was dead already," she said, adding "I don't want to have to keep doing this. But I am."
On Sunday, Frances Bean, who lost her father to suicide at a young age, called out Del Rey in a series of strong, but not overly harsh, tweets. "The death of young musicians isn't something to romanticize," she warned.

The Nirvana frontman's daughter and widow have big plans for the band's legacy.
There could be a Kurt Cobain musical in the works. Well, that's if you believe what the late Nirvana frontman's widow Courtney Love is currently suggesting. Having dismissed the prospect of such a project for years, the Hole singer has now said that it is "very likely" that Nirvana's songs will be heard on Broadway.
Courtney Love Has Said That A Kurt Cobain Musical Is "Very Likely" To Happen.
In a recent interview with NME, Love said that she and daughter Frances Bean Cobaindecided to move ahead with a stage musical so long as they can "reach up to the highest shelf and select a team of the greatest and most respected writers, producers and directors." It seems Jay-Z used Nirvana lyrics without permission - good job Courtney Love agreed to it.

Jay-Z Sings The Lyrics Of Kurt Cobain On 'Magna Carta Holy Grail'
Jay-Z sings the lines "and we all just / entertainers / and we're stupid / and contagious," as the hook on Holy Grail, a collaboration with Justin Timberlake. Though not verbatim, the words are similar to those on Smells Like Teen Spirit, when Cobain sings, "'Here we are now / entertain us / I feel stupid and contagious." Elsewhere on the track, Jay-Z references the late Nirvana frontman by name, rapping, "Momma please just get my bail / I know nobody to blame / Kurt Cobain / I did it to myself."
