A Man Has Been Arrested And Charged With Murder In The Hit-and-run Death Of Celebrity Jeweller Aron 'Eric' Aranbayev In New York.
The 40 year old, a co-owner of diamond merchants Rafaello & Co., died on 20 July (15) from injuries sustained in the incident, which took place the night before (19Jul15), near his home in Queens.
Boxing champ floyd mayweather, Jr., who was among Aranbayev's star clients, offered up $10,000 (£6,250) to add to a reward fund for information leading to the arrest of the suspect, and on Thursday (30Jul15), police announced they had taken Charles Jordan into custody in connection to the case.
The subway train operator, 46, has been charged with second-degree murder, second-degree murder with depraved indifference and leaving the scene of an accident, after surveillance footage appeared to show Jordan deliberately backing into Aranbayev and driving off.
Cops believe the two men had been arguing over a parking spot.
Aranbayev's other star clients included reality TV regular Khloe Kardashian, rappers Jay Z and Sean 'Diddy' Combs, and hip-hop producer Swizz Beatz.
