Fleetwood Mac star Stevie Nicks, CHEAP TRICK's Rick Nielsen and John Fogerty will make up Dave Grohl's new supergroup when the Foo Fighters rocker launches his directorial debut at the Sundance Film Festival later this month (Jan13).

Last month (Dec12), Grohl announced a one-night-only all-star jam in Park City, where Sound City, his new documentary about a fabled California recording studio, will open on 18 January (13) - but he refused to name names.

Now it has emerged via Pitchfork.com that he'll be joined by the aforementioned rock trio as well as members of his band Foo Fighters, former Nirvana bandmate Krist Novoselic, Rick Springfield and Rage Against the MAChine's Brad Wilk.

All of the stars feature in the film and many appear on the the project's soundtrack, which will also include new tracks by Paul MCCartney and Trent Reznor.
