The Public Enemy star was slapped with a felony charge for driving with a suspended license and a speeding violation after he was pulled over in January, 2014, while racing to get to his mother's funeral in Long Island. The rapper, real name William Drayton, also faced two misdemeanours for driving without a license.

He pleaded not guilty to the counts earlier this year (15) and attempted to work out a plea deal with authorities, but he suffered a double legal setback in July (15) when negotiations fell apart and his second lawyer quit the case.

However, the 56 year old has since resolved the issue. On Tuesday (13Oct15), he pleaded guilty to one count of driving without a license, and he was sentenced to time served. Drayton must also pay a fine of around $3,600 (£2,250), reports

It's the second lucky break Drayton has received this year (15). He previously escaped prosecution over an illegal 2014 fireworks display outside his home in Las Vegas due to a lack of evidence.

However, he is still fighting charges of driving under the influence (DUI), speeding and having an open container of alcohol following an arrest in Las Vegas in May (15).
