On New Year's Eve, there is no better place to be than New York. All over the city, thousands are preparing for the most magical night of the year.

One guy, Paul, is planning nothing. That is, until he meets a woman desperate to fulfil her previous New Year's Resolutions by midnight. In return, she will give Paul four tickets to the hottest New Year's party in town. Paul agrees and whisks her away to make her wishes come true.

Meanwhile, Randy is not looking forward to midnight. He doesn't like New Year's Eve and how contradictory it makes people. His best friend, Elise, must find a way to cheer him up and celebrate the New Year in style. Along the way, the two fall in love with each other.

Laura Carrington is horrified to hear that her ex, successful rock star Jensen, is back in town. While their reunion did not go as well as he'd have liked, Jensen is desperate to resolve things with Laura and start their New Year on a good note.

The lives of the couples and the single people come together at New York's magical New Year's bash, hosted by Ryan Seacrest, as they countdown the seconds and watch the ball drop.
