Working in television is a cut-throat industry, keep your figures up or get out. After losing her job on a local news show Becky Fuller finds herself at a loose end. Far and few opportunities arise for her until she's offered the job of producing a morning television show called Daybreak.
Over the past year Daybreak's ratings have drastically fallen and there seems to be little future for the show. Feeling the show needs a fresh lease of life Becky approaches Mike Pomeroy, an anchorman who in his time was one of the most popular faces on TV in America. With her plans to revitalize the show in place, Becky is confident with her plan but little does she realize that Mike isn't going to be the easiest person to work with.
