Human beings are not the only creatures in the world who run complex social communities with strict hierarchies and tough rules. Far into the jungles of South Asia is the Temple Troop; a large civilisation of monkeys who dwell in the ruined manmade structures of ancient times alongside a host of neighbours from tigers and deer to lizards and poisonous scorpions. One primate mother has just given birth, but her and her newborn have a desperate struggle for survival ahead of them as higher-ranking community members present new threats to make sure they stay below the pack. There's plenty of competition as less fortunate monkeys fight to find food, comfort and solidity - some things their superiors have more than enough of. This mother is desperate to give her newborn a better chance at survival - and she'll do just about anything to give him it.
