The Medora Hornets are the varsity basketball team of their small town high school in Indiana. Unfortunately, like the rest of their town, they are failing miserably against other state teams with a losing streak enough to shame anyone into quitting. These boys are far from quitters though and four of them set out to prove that Medora still has something to offer to their country aside from trailers parks, drug use and a generally bad reputation. Medora hasn't always been so neglected, however, being once a thriving farming town with booming businesses and an automotive parts factory. The four boys of the Medora Hornets are determined to fight through their own personal and family issues to bring back the pride of their home town.
'Medora' is an extremely touching documentary about the power of sporting pride and how it can shape a community. It has been directed by Andrew Cohn in his directorial debut and Davy Rothbart ('Rise Against: Generation Lost', 'Another Station: Another Mile') and made its world premiere at the 2013 SXSW Film Festival. It is set to open in New York and Los Angeles movie theatres on November 8th 2013 and will be available on demand on November 12th.
