It's just another year at Grizzly Lake High School and for the seniors, this year is extra special, as they have their prom to look forward to. Gossip and bitching run riot through the halls; in particular, gossip about ironic hipster Clapton, who is seeing Ione, a pretty, blonde, ditzy cheerleader.

For one student, though, life at high school sucks. Riley is unpopular, a little fat and a vegetarian. No one likes her and no one really pays attention to her, with the exception of Sander, who is even more unpopular than Riley is.

Then, out of the blue, the most popular girl in school, Taylor, is brutally murdered by a serial killer known as Cinderhella. As students look on in shock and confusion at the police presence, not to mention the journalists swarming around, Riley comes forward and reveals that she has been attacked by Cinderhella, too. But no one believes her.

As more and more seniors get murdered, Principal Verge is convinced that the killer is one of the students. After gathering together several suspects - all of them in senior year - he then puts them in detention for twelve hours, on the day of the prom.

While a few of the students take the opportunity to moan about the unfairness of it all, Riley teams up with Clapton and Ione to find out who Cinderhella really is, why they are pursuing Riley and how to put a stop to it before they all wind up dead.
