In a dark and corrupt world, the rich and powerful are the bad guys, while those who strive to bring them down are destined to fail. With sin and vice running wild, the dirty police force are pushed into a war with the criminals they have spent so long supporting. Cymbeline (Ed Harris) is a powerful drug lord that one day decides he no longer wants to pay the police for their protection, pushing both sides to put their financial goals aside and embark in a bitter and desperate battle to rid the world of one-another.
'Cymbeline' is an upcoming, updated adaptation of William Shakespeare's late play of the same name. The film stars Ethan Hawke and directed by Michael Almereyda, who previously worked together in 2000 on an adaptation of Shakespeare's 'Hamlet'. The two announced that they would reunite in 2013 for another adaptation, with the film first appearing onscreen at the Venice Film Festival on 3rd September 2014. After then screening at Busan International Film Festival in South Korea on 3rd October 2014, 'Cymbeline' was released in the UK on 30th January 2015. It is due to be released theatrically in the US on 13th March 2015.
