The story of Romeo and Juliet is one of unconditional love that shows how far two people will go in order to be together for eternity. The two families the Montagues and the Capulets are at war with each other and both Romeo the son of Montague and Juliet the daughter of Capulet fall in love with each other which is strictly forbidden because of the family's ongoing feud.
The two get married in secret and after Romeo is banished for killing Tybalt in a duel he can no longer spend time with his love Juliet. She is due to marry Paris and time is running out for her to be re united with Romeo so she creates a plan which involves faking her own death. The narrative draws to a close with the climactic scene that results in both the deaths of Romeo and Juliet out of the act of love. The Kenneth Branagh Theatre Company are reinterpreting this Shakespeare classic and it will be broadcast to theatres on Thursday 7 July 2016.
