British Dj Fatboy Slim has received the Alumnus Award 2015 from the University of Brighton in England, where he studied 30 years ago.

The disc-spinner, real name Norman Cook, was a student at the institution from 1982 to 1985 and graduated with a degree in British Studies.

He returned to the university on Thursday (12Feb15), joined by his parents and his wife, British Tv personality Zoe Ball, to receive the Alumnus Award in recognition of his contribution to the music industry.

The star told new graduates, "I am immensely proud of my degree, proud of this university, proud of this fine city and immensely proud to be stood here 30 years on, receiving this wonderful award in front of the very parents who made it happen. Most of all I am proud of you, the graduates, because today is all about you.

"Congratulations. May your lives flourish and prosper and remember; if you do have any nagging dreams, you have now earned the right to perhaps indulge them."
