Ewan McGregor has been selected to receive a prestigious acting award at an upcoming film festival in Spain.
San Sebastian International Film Festival organisers will recognise the Trainspotting star's contribution to cinema by handing him the Donostia Award at the 60th anniversary of the movie event.
The presentation ceremony will take place on 27 September (12) ahead of the European premiere of MCGregor's latest drama, The Impossible, about a family caught up in the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami.
The Scottish star is in good company as the latest recipient of the Donostia prize - previous winners include Glenn Close, Pretty Woman co-stars Julia Roberts and Richard Gere, as well as Sir Ian MCKellen, Robert De Niro and Meryl Streep.
