Actress Emmy Rossum is planning a New Year assault on the album charts after recording a compilation of standards.
The Phantom of the Opera star has revamped the classic tracks she grew up listening to for Sentimental Journey - A Covers Collection of Classic Songs.
She says, "I grew up surrounded by classical music singing in the Children's Chorus at The Metropolitan Opera and when I would come home, the house was filled with the voices of Frank Sinatra, Sam Cooke, and Judy Garland.
"For as long as I can remember, my mother would sing Apple Blossom Time to me as a bedtime lullaby. Classics, jazz, and standards really infused my childhood and so it felt quite natural to finally make this record."
The album, which will be released on 29 January (13), features Rossum's renditions of These Foolish Things (Remind Me Of You), (I'll Be With You) In Apple Blossom Time, Summer Wind and Willie Nelson's Pretty Paper.
