UN Women Names Emma Watson As Youngest UN Ambassador
At just 24, Watson joins Nicole Kidman and HRH Princess Bajrakitiyabha of Thailand as a UN Women spokesperson.
Emma Watson may be just 24, but she is already doing big things with her life, beyond starring in the most successful film franchise of all time. Fresh off her Bachelor’s degree at Brown, Watson has been appointed as the new goodwill ambassador of UN Women – the United Nations body dealing with issues of equality and empowerment.
On the heels of wrapping her new movie, Emma Watson has taken on an publicity role with the UN.
"Being asked to serve as UN Women's Goodwill Ambassador is truly humbling," Watson, 24, said in a statement, according to Reuters. "Women's rights are something so inextricably linked with who I am, so deeply personal and rooted in my life, that I can't imagine an opportunity more exciting," she said.
