J.K. Rowling has released a short 1500 word story on Pottermore detailing the lives of Harry Potter and the rest of the Hogwarts gang 16 years after they defeated Lord Voldemort and the Death Eaters. 

Jk Rowling has written a short story about the famous trio aged 34.

The story is written from the viewpoint of Daily Prophet reporter Rita Skeeter who continues to meddle and gossip monger. Harry, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger and Ginny Weasley are all attending the Quidditch World Cup Final in the Patagonian Desert where Skeeter is celebrity spotting. Emma Watson has announced that she will be taking on a Goodwill Ambassador role for the United Nations' UN Women. The actress' new title will involve promoting gender equality and the empowerment of women. "So excited to start work with the AMAZING people at UN Women!" the Noah actress tweeted, confirming the news.

In a statement, Watson explained that she was honoured and humbled by the role and will look forward to being able to "make a real difference" as well as continuing her work in promoting girls' education in Bangladesh and Zambia.

The 24 year-old's responsibilities will involve working for UN Women's HeForShe campaign which encourages men and boys to stand up against inequalities faced by women and girls throughout the world.

Emma Watson looked like Christmas had come early as she left a lunch date in London with BAFTA nominated director Alejandro Amenabar.

'The Bling Ring' star hasn't been short of movie roles since finishing her stint as witch genius Hermione Granger in the 'Harry Potter' film series, but it looks like she could be in with a chance of working with another seminal director. The actress was spotted by the Daily Mail having lunch with 'The Others' director Alejandro Amenabar in London over the weekend, after which she got up and gave him an enormous hug while grinning widely. 

Of course, it could've been a regular old catch up; the 23-year-old and the 40-year-old could've been friends for ages; but Emma appeared to take to her phone immediately upon leaving, perhaps desperate to relay some good news to a friend of family member.

One Direction really do have everything after all. In a recently compiled list by Heat Magazine, the boy were revealed as the highest earning entertainment stars under-30's in the UK, with a combined worth of almost £60 million. Individually, the boys would be placed just outside the top ten, however when their wealth is combined they come out on top by a narrow margin.

Last years top spot holder, Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe, was ousted by the combined earning power of the mega-successful boy band, who have an estimated worth of over £12 million each. The boys were included to the list as a joint entity because most of their earnings have been made as a group, rather than through independent ventures. Narrowly missing out on reclaiming his top spot for a third time, Radcliffe came in second this year with £56.19 million. Something tells us that the Kill Your Darlings actor isn't losing too much sleep over being ousted from the top spot.

Benedict Cumberbatch has been crowned sexiest movie star in an unlikely turn of events whereby he raced ahead of typical heartthrobs Henry Cavill, Ryan Gosling and Bradley Cooper in an Empire poll.

The 'Star Trek Into Darkness' star isn't the most likely sex symbol of Hollywood, but the Brit definitely proved to be best after he was picked by 50,000 more fans than any of the other movie screen hotties. Perhaps the people of the world prefer the mysterious, intelligent look these days - or maybe it's just the accent as 'The Avengers' star Tom Hiddleston came in at second place.

We're surprised at the outcome as 'Man Of Steel' hunk Henry Cavill and 'The Place Beyond the Pines' cutie Ryan Gosling looked like dead certs to receive the honour, with the latter's numerous onscreen romances (we all remember 'The Notebook') and the former's portrayal of Superman, one of the most charming characters ever created.

Sherlock Holmes actor Benedict Cumbetbatch and former Harry Potter star Emma Watson have been named the world's sexiest film stars in a new poll by movie magazine Empire.

Cumberbatch managed to beat last year's sexiest man alive, Ryan Gosling, who only came in at number 4, as well as overcoming Jude Law (No. 41), fellow Brit Henry Cavill (No.3) and James Bond himself as Daniel Craig finished No.24.

Watson also beat an impressive list of Hollywood bombshell's which included Mila Kunis (No.7), Cameron Diaz (No.40), Emma Stone (No.6), Olivia Wilde (No.17) and star of upcoming comedy 'Don Jon' Scarlet Johansson, who came in at No.2.

We get the idea: when you’ve got one of the highest grossing movies of all time under your control, it would be foolish not to milk it a bit. But with Warner Bros. trademarking yet another part of the Harry Potter universe, it got us wondering, could every single future film be a Potter spin off or some kind?

So far, Warner Bros. have got their hands on Scamander, the Tales Of Beedle The Bard, Quidditch Through The Ages, the name of quidditch expert Kennilworthy Whisp and team names Wimbourne Wasps, Chudley Cannons and Kenmare Kestrels. (Bleeding Cool)

This suggests the Quidditch spin off is nailed on. This comes in addition to the trademark of Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them, which, as Warner Bros. announced earlier on this month, is set for a cinematic reimagining from page to screen. Fans of the Potter franchise – and there are plenty of those – will be delighted to see their universe explored further via the medium of cinema.

It's less than a year until the Fifty Shades of Grey movie is due in cinemas yet there doesn't seem to have been any firm casting decisions made.
