Actress Emma Watson has been named 2015’s Campaigner of the Year at the Observer Ethical Awards. The 25 year old Harry Potter star was appointed as a UN Goodwill Ambassador last July and in September she launched the HeForShe gender equality campaign.

Emma Watson was named Campaigner of the Year at this year’s Observer Ethical Awards.

Watson was unfortunately unable to attend the ceremony, but she did take to Twitter to share her joy over receiving the honour. "Thank you @ObserverEthical for awarding me Campaigner of the Year! Honoured," she tweeted. "I want to share this w every @HeForShe out there #ethical awards.”

Following recent negotiations to take the lead roles in La La Land, Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone are now confirmed to star in Damien Chazelle's follow-up to his Oscar-winning drama Whiplash.

The real life Olaf shared the image on Instagram, captioning the snap, “Can't wait for you to be our guest.”

Gad will star as Gaston’s sidekick Le Fou in the remake, which is due to begin filming later next month.

Great... Another Disney classic is being changed into a live-action movie. Barely a week goes by in which we're not reporting yet another animation is being revamped. We're already hearing reports that production of Beauty and the Beast, starring Emma Watson and Dan Stevens, is underway and others that Dumbo, Winnie The Pooh, The Jungle Book and Mulan are all being made into live-action films. It may not be original but, if we look at $758 million Maleficent raked in and Cinderella's recent success, it is hugely profitable.

Josh Gad has become the latest actor to join the cast of the live-action adaptation of Beauty and the Beast. 34-year-old Gad has been cast as Le Fou, the villain Gaston's minion. Gad is best known for voicing Olaf in Disney's Frozen and for his roles in such films as The Internship and Jobs. Emma Watson (Harry Potter) has been cast as Belle, Dan Stevens (Downton Abbey) as the Beast and Luke Evans (Dracula Untold) as Gaston. Emma Thompson (Saving Mr. Banks) and Timothy Spall (Mr. Turner) are also rumoured to be in talks with the film's producers.

Fresh off her Bachelor’s degree at Brown, Watson has been appointed as the new goodwill ambassador of UN Women – the United Nations body dealing with issues of equality and empowerment.

On the heels of wrapping her new movie, Emma Watson has taken on an publicity role with the UN.

"Being asked to serve as UN Women's Goodwill Ambassador is truly humbling," Watson, 24, said in a statement, according to Reuters. J.K. Rowling has released a short 1500 word story on Pottermore detailing the lives of Harry Potter and the rest of the Hogwarts gang 16 years after they defeated Lord Voldemort and the Death Eaters. 

Jk Rowling has written a short story about the famous trio aged 34.

The story is written from the viewpoint of Daily Prophet reporter Rita Skeeter who continues to meddle and gossip monger. Harry, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger and Ginny Weasley are all attending the Quidditch World Cup Final in the Patagonian Desert where Skeeter is celebrity spotting. Emma Watson has announced that she will be taking on a Goodwill Ambassador role for the United Nations' UN Women. The actress' new title will involve promoting gender equality and the empowerment of women. "So excited to start work with the AMAZING people at UN Women!" the Noah actress tweeted, confirming the news.

In a statement, Watson explained that she was honoured and humbled by the role and will look forward to being able to "make a real difference" as well as continuing her work in promoting girls' education in Bangladesh and Zambia.

The 24 year-old's responsibilities will involve working for UN Women's HeForShe campaign which encourages men and boys to stand up against inequalities faced by women and girls throughout the world.
