Machine Gun Kelly Lashes Out At Eminem With 'Rap Devil'

Machine Gun Kelly Eminem

Machine Gun Kelly has bravely taken on his rap rival Eminem after the latter dissed him in his song 'Not Alike', taken from his recently dropped surprise album 'Kamikaze'. The pair have always had a beef between them, but it's never been quite as entertaining as it is right now.

The 28-year-old proves his lyrical inferiority with the title of his diss track 'Rap Devil'; an unimaginative inversion of Eminem's 2013 single 'Rap God'. But while he may not be as fluent with literary devices as his more established counter-part, he still had some tough words for the 45-year-old.

Eminem Drops Surprise New Album 'Kamikaze'

Eminem

Eminem has released a surprise new studio album, titled Kamikaze.

The rap legend’s tenth album was dropped without any fanfare at midnight on Thursday (August 30th) at East Coast time, and serves as a snap follow-up to his 2017 album Revival, which was released just nine months previously.

In comparison to many of his albums, Kamikaze is made up of just 13 songs and lasts a comparatively slender 46 minutes, and is executive-produced by Dr. Dre and Eminem himself. It also features artwork depicting the tail-fin of a crashed airplane, and looks uncannily like the front cover of Beastie Boys’ 1986 debut album Licensed To Ill.

Listen Up Pimps And Mobsters! Here's Eminem's Definitive List Of 'Hip-Hop Don'ts'

Eminem

When it comes to rapping, there are a certain set of rules one must follow. You can't just rhyme willy-nilly. That would be silly. Hip-hop is chock-full of cliches - probably more than any other musical genre - and Eminem has the low-down on what you can and can't say next time you're spitting that freestyle.

The 45-year-old Detroit star is one of the finest authorities on rap music out there; he stands next to the likes of 2Pac and Biggie as one of the greatest hip-hop artists that ever lived, so he's learned a thing or two in his time about spitting rhymes.

'You Shouldn't Be Here': Eminem Responds To Bonnaroo Set Critics

Eminem

Eminem has hit back at critics who blasted him for including 'gunshot sound effects' in his recent performance at Bonnaroo, with a passive aggressive warning ahead of his set at Firefly Festival. It's pretty straight-forward, and makes it clear that he's not changing his shows for anyone.

Despite the fact that he's been doing it for years, some festival goers took issue at his recent Bonnaroo set which included a performance of the song 'Kill You'; a performance that ended with a loud pyrotechnic bang that some of the crowd thought was a gunshot.

Why Are People Angry With Eminem's Bonnaroo Performance?

Eminem

In a confusing chain of events, a handful of festival goers at Bonnaroo have expressed anger and shock over one aspect of headliner Eminem's stage set-up, when they mistook a pyrotechnic for a gunshot at the end of his performance of 'Kill You'. The thing is, this is nothing we haven't heard before.

It's OK to jump at loud noises. It's OK to panic at the sound of a bang when you're not expecting it. In fact, the culture that we are living in where mass shootings are occurring on an almost daily basis in the United States alone, it's very likely that you would be a little on edge at such a packed concert as Bonnaroo 2018.

Jay Z Named World's Richest Rapper By Forbes

Jay Z Dr Dre Eminem Drake

Jay Z has ended Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ reign at the top of the Forbes list of hip-hop’s highest earners, mostly thanks to cognac and champagne.

The magazine reported on Thursday (March 1st) that the 48 year old rapper – who welcomed twins roughly a year ago with his wife Beyonce and released his latest album 4:44 - had a net worth of $900 million, increasing his wealth over the last 12 months by an estimated $90 million.

That increase was largely derived from the booming value of his interests in Armand de Brignac champagne and D’Ussé cognac, as well as ownership stakes in record label Roc Nation and his Tidal music streaming service.

Eminem's Manager Can Be Brutally Honest

Eminem

Eminem has admitted Paul Rosenburg has a big impact on his lyrics due to his brutal honesty.

The 'Walk On Water' rapper often finds it difficult to reign himself in when it comes to his often divisive rhymes, but he explained his manager's critique plays a massive part in helping him edit his work and realise when a song is ready to be heard by the wider world.

Speaking to Billboard magazine, Slim Shady said: ''Paul always tells me what I don't want to hear. But I gotta respect it, because it's not an easy job. When there's things that I may go too far on, whatever it is, he's the guy who's there to give me the truth. Usually, when we put our heads together and we agree on something, that's when we feel that something's ready to come out.''

It's difficult to see where Slim Shady is going with this one. In the clip, he can be seen typing earnestly at a desk, though not actually writing any real words at all, before casting the paper aside as several other people in the room do the same. It ends with him staring at a final sheet of paper in disbelief, though we do not see what has interrupted his work.

Eminem Reveals His Anti-Trump Freestyle Rap Was Not 'Off The Cuff'

Eminem

The definition of a freestyle rap is a (mostly) improvised performance, which means that Eminem's anti-Trump song 'The Storm' isn't quite as 'freestyle' as his fans liked to think. In an interview with Elton John, he admits he wrote the verses beforehand, but we still think it was an important moment.

When Eminem dropped his politically charged rap verse at the 2017 BET Hip-Hop Awards Cypher, it stunned audiences for the intelligence behind the lyrics and the sheer direct anger towards the American government. He opened up about the song to Elton John in Interview Magazine.
