Emeli Sande's family still call her by her real name Adele.

The 29-year-old singer, whose full name is Adele Emily Sande, changed her name when she become recognised as an artist because 'Hello' hitmaker Adele was already a household name, however the star has revealed her parents and close friends and relatives don't refer her to her by her middle name.

Speaking to The Sun newspaper, the powerhouse said: ''My parents call me Adele. Everyone that knows me before I moved to London and started music calls me Adele.

''It was weird, I had never met someone called Adele before and then that happened. Adele is me when I'm not singing. But Emeli is fun - I'm enjoying it.

''I just thought, you've kind of taken the name now, so I went with my middle name. She [Adele] was just getting bigger and bigger, so I thought I just really need it.''

And the 'Next To Me' hitmaker has revealed not only has she add to change her name to be recognised she has also delayed the release of her new LP, which comes out on Friday (11.11.16) so not to clash with the flame-haired singer.

The singer's longtime producer Naughty Boy previously revealed: ''They can't go against each other. Nobody wants to.

''Adele's album is coming in September ... Emeli's album is coming out next year now. It sounds amazing.''
