Singer/songwriter Elvis Costello has urged his fans not to buy a new limited edition box set of his hits because record label bosses are asking too much for the package.
The financially-conscious star has taken to his blog to deter followers from parting with over $300 (£188) for The Return Of The Spectacular Spinning Songbook.
He writes, "If you want to buy something special for your loved one at this time of seasonal giving, we suggest, Ambassador Of Jazz - a cute little imitation suitcase containing 10 re-mastered albums by one of the most beautiful and loving revolutionaries who ever lived - Louis Armstrong."
The Armstrong collection retails for $150 (£94).
