The Burn star is a fitness enthusiast and the stunning blonde's fervour for working out landed her a gig as the face of a Nike activewear campaign in January, 2015.

Ellie has run five half-marathons in the past, but even though running is her first love, she is now turning attention to throwing punches in the ring.

"Because I'm left-handed, I have a pretty good left jab, but then I did this uppercut the other day that was just insane," she told the November (15) edition of America's Marie Claire magazine. "Boxing is very animalistic, and there's a lot of adrenaline in it."

Fighting has tremendous benefits for Ellie, as she feels her endurance increasing with the activity.

The songstress also believes boxing helps her put on good live performances.

"It has helped my stamina," she explained. "When I'm onstage, I feel like I could go on forever."

Her skill level is increasing every time she steps into the boxing ring, but even though she's been invited to do so, it's unlikely Ellie will go pro anytime soon.

"I've been told I should spar and train for real because I seem to have a bit of a talent for it - but I'd rather go on tour with my face intact," she smiled.

Ellie has a power playlist that keeps her going while she's sweating heavily in the gym and a few tracks in particular have become workout theme songs.

"My trainer, Faisal Abdalla, motivates me with music," she explained. "If Drakes come on, I'm going to start killing it."

Ellie previously spoke about why she is so dedicated to working out regularly, noting exercise and songwriting hold special places in her heart.

She sees a distinct connection between her fitness regimen and how things pan out in matters of career.

"I think my passion for exercise and my passion for performing on stage have started to intertwine slightly because I have to be fit to do all of the things I want to do on stage," she told "Sports and music have a similar rush. But when I'm on stage, there's no other feeling like it. It doesn't come close to anything."
