Playing 'Spill Your Guts or Fill Your Guts' on 'The Late Late Show', he was also asked by James Corden about his relationship with the rest of One Direction...
In fairness, he was asked to choose between only Goulding and his other former flame, Selena Gomez, during the game of ‘Spill Your Guts or Fill Your Guts’ he played with Corden’s other guests, Isla Fisher and Ewan McGregor. In the game, each guest was asked to reveal a deep persona truth or eat or drink some kind of revolting foodstuff.
Goulding was speaking on Australian TV when the interviewers began a slightly awkward line of questioning relating to the rumoured relationship between her and Prince Harry.
Ellie Goulding was a bit thrown at having to deny that she is pregnant with Prince Harry’s baby, in an awkward line of questioning during an appearance on Australian television.

Shailene Woodley and Kate Winslet stole the show at the 'Divergent' premiere, but which other stars were dressed to impress?
With a cast like that of new blockbuster Divergent it’s not a surprise that the movie’s premiere was packed with stylish stars. The red carpet was swarming with a wealth of designer ensembles, and that’s just from the men! We’ve have a root through all of the fabulous outfits from the evening and picked out the looks that we love the most.
We're in love with Kate's Safiyaa London gown
Kate Winslet may have given birth to her baby boy just three months ago, but you’d never have been able to tell, so fabulous did she look in her floor length red Safiyaa London gown. Bear Blaze has got one yummy mummy, that’s for sure! Kate completed her look with two totally on trend accessories, a metallic gold clutch bag and gold cuff bracelet. This girl knows how to red carpet (she does have a fair bit of experience at it!).
Ellie Goulding's had a bit of an image update as of late...

As Lorde wins the BRIT award for Best International Female we take a closer look at the 17 year old New Zealand pop sensation.
There’s been a ton of buzz around New Zealand singer and songwriter, Lorde, since her first EP The Love Club came out in November 2012. The first single off the EP, Royals, made it to number one in the pop charts in both New Zealand and the US, which means that the 17 year old pop star (yes, she’s just 17 years old which is something to think about for all of us out there who are much older and still don’t have any number one singles) can now proudly claim to be the first New Zealander ever to have topped the US charts.
Lorde doesn't bother dressing up to the nines like the average teenage popstar
But who is Lorde? The sultry star seemingly popped up out of nowhere and is now picking up awards and accolades left, right and centre, including last night winning the much coveted BRIT award for Best International Female before going on to then party the night away alongside fellow pop stars Katy Perry and Ellie Goulding.

New hair and old flames - the last night of Swift's UK tour was a big one.
Taylor Swift played at the O2 in London last night. She did a duet with Ellie Goulding. There were roughly 20 000 people in attendance, despite the continuing tube strike in the city (that’s the subway for you Americans). All of this pales in comparison to the news that A. Taylor got a haircut and B. Harry Styles may have been/was spotted, sort of, in a blurry instagram video/is rumored to have been backstage during Swift’s impromptu haircut party. What is a "haircut party" you ask? Apparently, it means loads of people standing in a tiny room, cheering Taylor, as she has her hair cut. Are you excited yet?
This marks the end of Taylor's UK run in support of RED.
"This is how many people are watching me get a haircut right now," Swift says as she pans her camera phone across the crowd huddled together in a small room backstage.

Ke$ha and Pitbull's new party track proves enough of a hit to dethrone Pharrell.
Pitbull and Ke$ha have finally outperformed their rivals to claim the UK's first official number one song of 2014. Their new party track 'Timber' has danced to the top of the charts, ahead of previous top dog Pharrell Williams and his 'Happy' as well as Avicii's 'Hey Brother.'
Ke$ha Celebrates Another Chart-Topping Party Stomper.
Inspired by Avicii's 'Wake Me Up,' 'Timber' blends a dancefloor beat with country influences and is both Pitbull and Ke$ha's third number one single in the UK after having each separately conquered the charts twice before. Though the first week of the year is traditionally quiet one for music sales, purchases of 'Timber' have numbered an impressive 139,000 copies this week, according to the Official Charts Company.

The two Take That bandmates went head-to-head in the charts this weekend, with Robbie holding out for the No. 1 spot
It was like 1997 all over again this weekend, as Robbie Williams and Gary Barlow battled it out for the Number One spot on the UK Album Chart. Much like the battles of the mid-to-late nineties, it was Robbie who came out on top again, making him the last artist to top the album chart in 2013.
The Take That guys were fighting for the top spot yet again
Robbie's new big band album, Swing Both Ways, held on to the No. 1 spot for a second week, having emerged victorious from another closely fought contest from last week. It was One Direction who Robbie managed to beat to the No. 1 spot last week, with his latest album beating Midnight Memories to the top spot by just 200 copies. This time around it was a relatively more clear contest, with Swing Both Ways outselling Gary Barlow’s latest solo effort, Since I Saw You Last, by approximately 12,000 copies.

The Dutch DJ scored his first No. 1 at the first time of asking
Lily Allen couldn't secure her place at the top of the UK Singles Chart this week, as her cover of Keane's 'Somewhere Only We Know' was pipped to the podium by a school kid from The Netherlands. Garrix managed to secure the top spot ahead of Allen with his dancefloor anthem 'Animals,' beating Allen's holiday number to the top of the chart.
Allen's cover, which serves as the soundtrack for the much-applauded John Lewis Christmas advert, was unable to earn the singer her first number one since returning to music a few weeks ago. Still, the success of the single and the advert have gone on to spark renewed interest in the Keane original, which has returned to the chart at No. 29.
Garrix could have had the honour of being the youngest artist to reach No. 1 this year were it not for the infectious 'Royals' by 16-year-old Lorde reaching the top spot three week ago. Regardless, reaching the No. 1 spot overseas must be a pretty extraordinary feeling, especially when you're just 17! Speaking to OfficialCharts.com, the Dutch wunderkind said, “I didn't expect this success at all! I made Animals as a club record and seeing it chart so high worldwide and especially a Number 1 in the UK was really beyond my expectations. I will definitely celebrate this with my parents, friends and at school!"

Her co-stars scrubbed up for the London premiere pretty well too
The Odeon Cinema in London's Leicester Square was host to the world premiere of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire on Monday night (Nov 11), and the stars and guests were on hand to make a big impression as they graced the red carpet. Dressed to the nines, the place awash with beautiful people as they paraded their wares, and no one parades better than Jennifer Lawrence.
J-Law wowed the crowd with her backless number
Dressed in a backless white Dior gown, Lawrence looked impeccable as she oozed style whilst greeting fans and signing autographs down the red carpet. The actress thanked fans for showing up in their droves despite the torrid weather conditions, reportedly saying (via Variety) at one point: “I’ve been out here five minutes and I’m complaining!”

The singer announced it on Fearne Cotton's Radio One show
It’s official – she announced it on the radio this morning – Ellie Goulding’s track, How Will I Love You, is the 2013 Children in Need single. The singer follows in the footsteps of pop legends the Spice Girls and Girls Aloud by heading up the charity’s musical fundraising.
Goulding has sold more than 15 million singles and 4 million albums worldwide. She recently enjoyed a hit in the UK with Burn and it's now been selected as the official single for the 2013 appeal, raising money to support disadvantaged children and young people in the UK – a pretty good year!
'Burn' claims biggest selling record for second week in a row, above Avicii, Miley Cyrus and Lady Gaga.

Jennifer Lopez joined Taylor Swift on stage to sing a special rendition of 'Jenny From the Block'. Swift was in Los Angeles performing at the Staples Centre on her Red Tour when Lopez joined her on stage. She then hyped up the unsuspecting audience by asking them "now I don't know about you, but when I was little, you know you had that favourite song? That you used to play over and over and over again? Just blast it in your room. And you'd sing in front of your mirror into a hairbrush, right? And you had that one favourite song. Lopez appeared on stage, in a highly rehearsed performance, wearing a sparkling white outfit which complimented Swift's black sequined shorts.

The two singers hooked up to sing a version of Goulding's track during Swift's recent sold-out performance at LA's Staple's Centre
As Taylor Swift continues her Red tour up and down the United States, so does her newfound tradition of bringing a little help on stage to treat her fans. At her show at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles, the pop-country star hooked up with UK pop sensation Ellie Goulding for a one off performance, with the two singing a version of 'Anything Could Happen' from Goulding's second album, Halcyon.
Swift played her 11th sold out show at the Staples Centre on Friday
As the Friday (August 23) show at the Staples Centre was drawing to an end, Taylor began introducing the Brit star to the unsuspecting audience. Previously during her tour, Swift has shared the stage with Carly Simon, indie duo Tegan & Sara and UK artist Cher Lloyd, and it's looking as though she has no plans to quit this Red-tradition any time soon.
Katy Perry is roaring ahead in the singles charts, despite Gaga inciting a fan frenzy to get her to No.1.
Singer Katy Perry looks likely to secure her eighth US No.1 song after selling 450,000 copies of her new single 'Roar' in its first week of release. Lady GaGa, who has also dropped new track 'Applause' within the last few days, is left languishing at 225,000 copies.
Katy Perry Looks Likely To Secure This Week's No.1 Single.
Gaga's 'Applause' wasn't supposed to be released until this weekend but a leak on Monday (12th Aug) prompted the 'Poker Face' singer to declare a "911 pop emergency" and drop the track straight away to combat the pirates. This sparked a furious chart war between the two popstars who suddenly found themselves competing for the week's best-selling track earlier than intended.

The Radio 1 Big Weekend became a star-studded event with performances from some of the biggest chart toppers.
Rudimental at BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend
BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend was just that - a BIG weekend! With a huge range of hit artists, the radio station left no genre uncovered over the Spring Bank Holiday weekend (May 24th - 26th 2013).
Day 1 saw performances from Dizzee Rascal as he promotes his upcoming fifth album due out later in the year; Rudimental, whose debut album 'Home' has had some remarkable reviews and a number one spot on the UK album chart; Rita Ora who is also working on a new album; and her platinum selling boyfriend Calvin Harris. Saturday brought in an equally impressive line-up with Ellie Goulding who is in the UK before she embarks on a lengthy US tour later in the summer; The Saturdays minus Rochelle Humes who is still recovering from the birth of her first baby Alaia-Mai; and Iggy Azalea whose debut album release is imminent. As for day 3, it certainly wasn't a day of rest as hitting the stage in Derry, Northern Ireland were alt-rock threesome Paramore, BRIT award nominated Jessie Ware and Grammy winning Bruno Mars who's set to kick off a major world tour in the summer spanning through 'til March 2014.
Calvin Harris was soaked by a drink-slinging reveller, but continued unperturbed.
Calvin Harris was given an almighty soaking by a member of the audience at this show at London's Project Club at the weekend. The Scottish DJ was 30 minutes into a planned hour long set when he was given a watering by a fan who got a little excited. Ever the professional, Harris stuck up two fingers, downed a shot, and continued with his set which ended up being four hours long.
A club source said: "Calvin took it all in his stride. He even joked that next time he DJs he'll wear waterproofs. The culprit was dealt with very quickly and 95 per cent of the clubbers didn't even notice. Calvin was a pro and carried on unphased and ended up DJing for extra time when a lot of lesser performers would have stormed off." It's probably not difficult for Harris to keep an audience on the dancefloor for four hours - his latest album 18 months is packed with chart hits. I Need Your Love, featuring Ellie Goulding, has become the eighth top ten track from the album. It means Harris now holds the record, overtaking Michael Jackson who scored seven Top 10's from his Dangerous record.
Harris is about to take off to the U.S for a handful of shows, before heading back to Europe for the summer. He'll play multiple shows in Ibiza and Mallorca before returning to the UK for a number of festivals including Oxegen and V Festival.

Pair both have relationships
What’s this!? Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding canoodling? Topless!? (Well Calvin is anyway,) MAKING OUT!? Fear not, those who are aware that both the DJ and the singer are currently in relationships with other people, the pals are just fooling around in a new video for Calvin Harris new single I Need Your Love.
The single is the seventh (!) to be released from Harris’ third album 18 Months – overkill much? – and evidently aware that surely no one gives a toss anymore about a track that’s been around for almost seven months, Harris has sought to spice things up a little in the video by having him and Goulding making out on the beach and in bed, to get people talking about it a little. It’s evidently worked given what we’re typing right at this instant.
In real life things are somewhat different, with Ellie Goulding going out with actor Jeremy Irvine, star of Spielberg film War Horse, and Harris dating former girlfriend of Maroon 5 man Adam Levine and Victoria’s Secret model, Anne Vyalitsyna. We can’t help but wonder what those two think of the pair in this video, however, we can’t help but feel they’ll feel a little perturbed by the clear chemistry that exists between the pair. Oo-er.

Who wasn't at the ABC studios this week? Ok, so we weren't, and to be fair most of the world were probably elsewhere too, but three huge stars that were included Jennifer Lopez, Ellie Goulding and Drew Barrymore. All three were appearing on the network's flagship breakfast show Good Morning America, and there were contrasting ways in which each of the ladies coped with the early mornings and brisk seasonal cold.
Albums of Note... Deftly side-stepping the pitfalls of ‘second album syndrome,’ Everything Everything have stepped things up a notch with second album Arc, which looks set to raise their profile even further. They’ve retained their quirky dance geek sound, but this time around, the songs have a darker, more emotional sound. Where their debut was playful, a newfound intensity can be found on this follow-up. “Arc offers more drama and intensity than the playful-ness we heard on Man Alive, Everything Everything's 2010-released debut… each track stands in its own right; nothing is filler and Arc maintains interest throughout; it's a much more mature offering than Everything Everything's previous, particularly with the likes of the gentle, piano-backed 'The Peaks, which sensitively showcases their trademark falsetto vocals in an atmospheric setting.”
Paul Weller’s latest release, the ‘Dragonfly EP’ is described by our reviewer as a “victory lap.” The EP contains a number of unreleased tracks from the Modfather’s trilogy of experimental albums released in 2012. Described as “by no means essential for the casual fan,” the tracks contained herein are a step away from the sonic experimentation of the albums and are closer to his early solo days.“The Dragonfly EP is therefore well worth your time if you have any interest in Weller's more recent output. However, for the more casual listener, it may seem like it's business as usual for the Modfather. The 5 additional songs certainly deserve to be heard, and it's a welcome move that they haven't just ended up on the cutting room floor.”
Well, amicable enough, it would seem, that he’s still happy to release the collaborative track that they created, but not so amicable that he asked her to appear in the video for the track.
Instead, ‘Summit’ features footage of various young, lithe looking folk, most of whom look as though they just stepped straight out of an American Apparel advert. Crazy young kids, setting each other’s hair on fire, setting other things on fire, rolling around in a sorry excuse for a ball pool coasting around on their BMX bikes and, of course, spraying squirty cream moustaches on their faces. Because who DOESN’T want to do that whilst a Skrillex track whomp-whomps about in the background. The six minute track features vocals from Ellie throughout and they are largely distorted, though there are points when that voice is quite distinctly that of Elle Goulding.
Katy Perry kicked off her birthday festivities this weekend by throwing a predictably lavish costume-party at Los Angeles' Magic Castle nightspot. The singer turns 28 on Thursday (Oct 25, 2012), though hardly made an effort to upstage her famous guests by dressing as a fairly standard vampire.
It was beau John Mayer who put a little more thought into his outfit, opting to arrive as a vampire hunter complete with prosthetic nose and chin, reports US Weekly. Elsewhere, Kristen Stewart snuck into the event fairly unnoticed, while house music DJ Skrillex and girlfriend Ellie Goulding were snapped in some pretty poor looking skeleton outfits. Diane Warren, Johnny Wujek, David Burtka and Neil Patrick Harris were also in attendance. The 'How I Met Your Mother' star tweeted a photograph from the event, adding, "Thank you @KatyPerry for having @DavidBurtka and me at your frightfully fun B'day Bash at the @MagicCastle last night."
Earlier in the weekend, Katy had joined Mayer's family and friends to celebrate his 35th birthday at Freemans restaurant on Manhattan's Lower East Side.
The have and have not of artistic credibility used to be pretty clear cut in the UK music scene in the 1980s. You had your pop stars, appearing on Top Of The Pops, wearing ridiculous costumes, spending (in the case of the really successful ones) hundreds of thousands of pounds on the blossoming music video phenomenon. Then you had your surly looking bands, sullen of expression in their hand-me-down clothes, earnest of word and writing music that was jumped upon and praised by the leftfield music press, but ultimately still left them sharing a scabby bedsit in the arse end of suburbia. It was clear; one group just wanted everyone to sing their song enough to want to go and buy it, the others believed they were artistically expressing themselves, whether to the detriment of the listener or not.
That's been changing ever since the turn of the 90s, from when the Stone Roses decided they would rather play to 20,000 people on an island than a few hundred at a Barfly, to when the BBC decided they were going to take a closer order of alternative music and started sending all their cameras down to Worthy Farm to cover Glastonbury, to Blur, Oasis and Britpop suddenly becoming commercial and political commodities and on and on ad infinitum. The point is that over the last twenty or so years this mythical 'indie cred' has become high profile and highly profitable. The BBC Sound of 2010 list, where we first met Ellie Goulding, has always tried to give the impression that the artists it's championing are the alternative; they're the bands, the underground producers and rappers. Yet there is no 'alternative' once you reach that level, winning the Sound list becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy as you find yourself plastered on billboards, shown on the red button, welcomed into the music industry and given a Best Rising Star award at the BRITS so that everyone can slap themselves on the back and say, 'look, we were right all along!'
Which is why artists like Ellie Goulding rankle, because there's no doubt that the team around them only have profit in mind, and yet the marketing behind it tries to convince us that they're pedalling something of substance. Here's a thought; have you ever seen the 25-year-old in a live promo picture without holding a guitar? It doesn't happen often, because that outdated notion of guitars = indie still exists in the major label offices. Additionally, with Goulding, she's being pushed as the sort of girl-next-door, who underneath it all is still just a singer songwriter earnestly pouring her heart out. On this album they've given her room for two songs that do just that, non-entities called 'I Know You Care' and 'Dead In The Water'. Interviews see her still try to talk about recording techniques she's developed and experiments with sounds; yet listening through Halcyon doesn't really reveal much other than the sort of bland, all-the-EQ-up noise war production that's become common place as labels desperately attempt to shout louder than the rest, in order to clasp the pitiful drain of money that's coming into the industry.

Green Day, obviously are a pretty big coup for the compilers of the soundtrack (Summit Entertainment release the album in collaboration with Chop Shop Records and Atlantic Records) and the band’s bass player Mike Dirnt spoke to Yahoo! about contributing their track ‘The Forgotten’ and said “When we were asked to be part of the 'Twilight: Breaking Dawn - Part 2' soundtrack, we readily agreed because the films are an insane cultural phenomenon, and we have always been impressed with the way the 'Twilight' soundtracks are so carefully curated.”
Ellie Goulding’s track will draw attention to the soundtrack too, not only because it’s an exclusive track but because it’s the first track that she’s released, to have been produced by her new boyfriend Skrillex. Following in the vein of slightly kooky female artists, St. Vincent and Feist have both contributed a track; both will undoubtedly make an excellent accompaniment to the dark, moody atmosphere of the Twilight movie.
Coming from a slightly more mainstream angle, Christina Perri returns with ‘A Thousand Years (Part Two)’. Naturally, it’s a follow on from her theme to the first installment of Breaking Dawn and Perri was almost a dead cert to be included on this final musical bow. She’s such a fan of Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight saga that she has the word ‘Bitten’ tattooed on her, in the Twilight font. She told Yahoo! “I am so honored and excited to be involved again in this final film and soundtrack.” She revealed that part two of the track will be different but hasn’t yet said how and the tracks are yet to be released. “It's not the same [as the original]... you'll just have to wait and see how,” she teased.
