Ellie Goulding (born 30.12.1986) Ellie Goulding is a British singer and songwriter. She was initially introduced to the public when she was shortlisted for the BBC's 'Sound of 2010' poll, which she eventually topped.
Childhood: Ellie Goulding was born in Hereford, England, and went to school at the Lady Hawkins' High School in Kington, Herefordshire. She then graduated to Hereford Sixth Form College, before studying drama at Kent University, though she was advised to take a year out from studying in order to pursue a music career.
As a teenager, Ellie Goulding learned to play the guitar and started to write her own songs, inspired by folk music. Whilst at university, she became interested in electronic music. Frankmusik helped her to create her sound on 'Wish I Stayed' and Goulding has become a frequent collaborator of Starsmith, who produced her debut album, Lights.
Music Career: In September 2009, Ellie Goulding signed to Polydor Records, though her debut single 'Under the Sheets' was released on the independent label Neon Gold Records, so as not to put too much pressure on Goulding to perform well in terms of sales.
'Under the Sheets' received its debut radio airplay on BBC Radio 1 at the end of September 2009 and went on to receive a heavy rotation of airplay. The following month, Elle Goulding supported Little Boots (aka Victoria Hesketh, who had featured in the BBC's 'Sound of 2009' shortlist). Goulding also appeared on Later. with Jools Holland performing 'Under the Sheets' and 'Guns and Horses'.
Goulding's collaboration with Frankmusik, 'Wish I Stayed', was Single of the Week on iTunes in December 2009. Ellie then went on to provide vocals for Starsmith's remix of 'Sleepyhead' by Passion Pit.
After being announced as the winner of the BBC Sound of 2010 poll, Ellie Goulding also won the Critics' Choice Award at the BRIT Awards. The last person to win both awards before Goulding was the singer Adele.
Lights was Ellie Goulding's debut album and was released in March 2010. The second single to be released from the album was 'Starry Eyed', which received huge amounts of airplay and helped to propel the album to number one in the UK albums chart. The third single to be released from the album was 'Guns and Horses'.
Ellie Goulding has also written a number of tracks for Diana Vickers, as well as co-writing a track with Gabriella Cilmi for her own album. It was announced that Ellie Goulding would be supporting John Mayer on his UK tour in 2010.
Goulding has been dating Jopling for the last 18 months.
British pop star Ellie Goulding has announced her engagement to her boyfriend of 18 months, Caspar Jopling, in a low-key but stylish entry in The Times.
No huge Instagram reveals for the Herefordshire-born singer, 31, as her family placed a notification in The Times’ Births, Deaths and Marriages section on Tuesday morning (August 7th). It would have been perfectly easy to miss it, as Ellie is referred to as “Miss E.J. Goulding” and “Elena, daughter of Mr Arthur Goulding of Herefordshire and Mrs Tracey Sumner of West Midlands”.
Unless you move in Northern English high society circles, however, you’re unlikely to have heard of Ellie’s new fiancé. So, here’s a very brief profile to answer the question: Casper Jopling, who he?

This came in response to Gallagher's latest broadside aimed at modern pop stars, on whom fame is apparently "wasted".
Earlier this week, 48 year old Gallagher had taken aim at the new generation of chart acts – as history tells us he is prone to do from time to time – telling Esquire in a lengthy rant that everybody except Kanye West was boring and didn’t deserve the trappings that come with their fame and fortune.

She's been forced to take time off from the gym in order to recover from the condition, she revealed in a new interview.
Ellie Goulding has announced the startling news that she’s been coping with a heart condition in secret for over a year.
The 28 year old British star was accused of lip-syncing her performance at the AFL final in Melbourne, Australia last month, and earlier this week responded cryptically that she had bigger things to worry about.
The ‘Love Me Like You Do’ singer, who is releasing her new album Delirium in November, told MailOnline: “I found out I have this heart thing and I need to get it checked out. I’m fine, it’s actually something someone discovered last year but I never got it checked out. Which is terrible, I have been playing with my life.”
The ‘Love Me Like You Do’ singer was accused by many on social media of not singing live.
Ellie Goulding has hit back at social media critics who accused her of lip-synching during her AFL Grand Final pre-game set. Goulding played two songs during the performance, including hit ‘Love Me Like You Do’ from the Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack.
Ellie Goulding was accused of lip synching during her AFL Grand Final set.
At the beginning of her set, Goulding seemed to be having trouble with coming in on time as she began ‘Love Me Like You Do’. According to the Daily Mail, Goulding failed to come in on time with the music and then stood awkwardly in front of the audience before the backing track stopped and re-started.
'Delirium', her third LP, is out in November, and she placed her new single 'On My Mind' on streaming platforms.
Ellie Goulding has revealed details of her new studio album Delirium, sharing some pretty revealing shots of the album’s artwork and announcing the stream of its first single ‘On My Mind’ at the same time.
The British singer-songwriter will be releasing her third album on November 6th through Polydor Records. It’s the follow-up to her 2012 album Halcyon, and has seen Goulding team up with a number of collaborators to bring it to life, including songwriters and producers such as Max Martin, Greg Kurstin, Onerepublic’s Ryan Tedder and Disclosure’s Guy Lawrence.

The 'Stay With Me' singer released a pretty telling picture on Twitter on Monday.
Sam Smith has dropped a pretty powerful hint that he’s recorded the theme tune to the forthcoming Bond movie Spectre. The British singer, one of the best-selling artists around the world last year, posted a picture of his hand bearing a plain silver band embossed with the ‘Spectre’ octopus symbol.
The 23 year old has been one of the most prominent names bandied about in the rumours about who’ll get the honour of recorded the theme song to the 24th Bond movie, which is being released in cinemas on October 26th. However, fellow Brit Ellie Goulding had been the bookies’ favourite until this revelation.

The singer asked for peace after a brawl began during her set at Glasgow's Summer Sessions
Ellie Goulding became more than just a popstar at a recent gig in Glasgow and when she turned referee as she pleaded for peace when a fight broke out between a group of women as she performed. The Burn singing star was taking her turn at Sunday’s Summer Session event in the Scottish city when she paused and asked for the fight to stop as one woman was attacked by two other women.
