Comedian Eddie Griffin cut short his stand-up gig in California on Friday (13Jul12) after a female reveller hurled a drink at the star onstage.
The crowd member at Tommy T's Comedy Club in Pleasanton had allegedly been offended by the funnyman's jokes and decided to show her disdain for his act by taking aim at Griffin, but he refused to stand for the rude behaviour and retaliated by pouring his bottle of water all over the woman.
A fight broke out in the audience and the show was immediately shut down as the culprit was escorted out of the venue by security guards, reports Tmz.com.
Police were called to the scene to investigate the incident, but the woman had left before officers arrived.
