Red-headed pop star Ed Sheeran has admitted his own ambitions to be just like fellow Brits One Direction, and take the US by storm. The BRIT AWARD winner is currently on tour in North America as the opening act for Irish pop-rockers Snow Patrol, but had time to speak to Canadian website Dose.ca whilst in Toronto to discuss his plans to take on the continent by himself in the near future.
His debut album is yet to be released in America, due for a summer release in America and Canada, but this hasn't dampened his appetite for a similar type of success experienced by his friends in One Direction. Sheeran wrote the song 'Moments' from the special edition of the band's debut album Up All Night, which entered both US and Canadian charts at number one when it was released in March this year. The boyband have commented on Sheeran in the past whilst being interviewed by American press, citing their desire to collaborate with the singer/songwriter, something that Sheeran is more than willing to sign up for.
After his success at the Brit Awards in February the 'Lego House' singer looks to follow-up this success at the upcoming Ivor Novello Awards in May, where his single 'The A Team' is up for Best Song Musically and Lyrically.
