Movie veteran Dustin Hoffman has successfully undergone treatment for cancer.
The Rain Man star's representative, Jodi Gottlieb, went public with the actor's secret health battle on Tuesday (06Aug13), although she has yet to disclose further details about his condition.
A statement released to People.com reads: "It (the cancer) was detected early and he has been surgically cured. Dustin is feeling great and is in good health."
Hoffman, 75, is expected to follow up the surgery with doctor-recommended preventative treatments.
The actor's cancer news comes in the middle of a busy year - he recently completed filming for Jon Favreau's new film Chef, and is due to head back to work to star opposite Dame Judi Dench in a movie adaptation of Roald Dahl's Esio Trot this autumn (13).
