A brand of lipstick named after the megastar rapper Drake has sold out within minutes of going on sale, with the only items now available being re-sold on eBay for upwards of $225.

After Black Friday in November, the luxury fashion brand Tom Ford re-released a popular line of lipstick shades called ‘Lips & Boys’, with each of the 25 colours tagged with a different boys’ name. Drake (the Canadian rapper’s real name is Aubrey Graham) happened to be one of the new names, and all of those items sold out within minutes, according to Elle.

My mom bought all of them. Hey Ma.

To be clear, the Tom Ford ‘Drake’ shade isn’t actually an official Drake product, or endorsed by him in any way, it just happens to be named after him. But so good has the internet been to the rapper in 2015 that seemingly anything tangentially related to him attracts craziness.

It sold out online, and in the brand’s Chicago and New York stores, at its retail price of $52 within moments, although Tom Ford has reassured shoppers that the item will be re-stocked soon.

Drizzy himself acknowledged the fervour around the item with an Instagram post on Tuesday (December 15th), joking that his mother was responsible for all of it. “My mom bought all of them. Hey ma,” the post was captioned.

It’s been quite a year for Drake, with his latest mixtape / unofficial album If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late becoming one of only two records released in 2015 to pass the million sales mark in the States, having been released by surprise in January (Adele is the other album, obvs).

Furthermore, he’s been romantically linked to tennis supremo Serena Williams, and his feud with fellow rapper Meek Mill made headlines in the summer, which Drake totally owned.
