Troubled rapper DMX has filed for bankruptcy after wracking up millions of dollars in debts.
The hip-hop star, real name Earl Simmons, lodged legal papers at the United States Bankruptcy Court in New York City on Monday (29Jul13), revealing he has less than $50,000 (£33,333) in assets and debts of more than $1 million (£666,667).
The paperwork states his total debt ranges from between $1 million (£666,667) to $10 million (£6.7 million), but at least $1.2 million (£800,000) is owed in child support payments.
The news comes just days after he was arrested in South Carolina on suspicion of driving under the influence. He was later released without charge.
