Dita Von Teese says she wants to inspire people today with a look that channels the 'past'.
Dita Von Teese brings the ''past'' to life through her style.
The 42-year-old burlesque star revealed she wants to show people ''another time'' through her distinct look - which includes wearing low-cut corsets that ooze femininity - and likes to mix it up with fetish pieces, such as elbow-length cloves and skyscrapper heels.
Dita shared: ''My aim has always been to capture the spirit of the past but to show people something they haven't seen before; to bring something new to the aesthetic of another time ... I always love distinctive, feminine silhouettes with a touch of whimsy plus something fetishistic, like an opera length leather glove, a skyscraper patent stiletto paired with a fully-fashioned contrast seamed stocking. It's all about timeless, luxe, unusual details.''
Meanwhile, the femme fatale is set to appear as a guest judge on the season finale of GSN series 'Steampunk'd' - which sees contestants compete to be named the best retro-futurist designer in America.
Dita will judge hopefuls on the ''originality and quality'' in their designs and thinks the show is line with her fashion ethos.
The star told fashionstyle.com: ''It captures the spirit of the past but brings it into the future. It's about imagination and the absolutely exquisite.''
