Director Bill Condon explains LeFou's predicament.
In a move that will no doubt thrill LGBT people around the world, 'Beauty and the Beast' is to become the first film in Disney history to feature an 'exclusively gay moment'. With Emma Watson also bringing an emphasis on feminism to the role, it could be the company's most diverse role yet.
Josh Gad and Luke Evans star in 'Beauty and the Beast'
In the past, Disney was considered a prejudiced enterprise on many counts, but now they are embracing diversity by bringing same-sex romance into their upcoming live action adaptation of 1991 animation 'Beauty and the Beast'. It centres around LeFou, played by Josh Gad, and his feelings for his slick master Gaston who is portrayed by Luke Evans.
Recent rumours that the 'Boy Meets World' spin-off was coming to an end have turned out to be true.
It’s official: Disney is indeed calling an end to ‘Girl Meets World’, just a few days after one of its stars, Rider Strong, stirred up rumours that the show was being cancelled.
‘Girl Meets World’ made its debut on The Disney Channel in June 2014, conceived of as a sequel series to the long-running ’90s favourite ‘Boy Meets World’, and ran for three seasons. On Wednesday (January 4th), the show’s writers tweeted confirmation of its cancellation.
“It is with incredible pride in our work and complete sadness that things end, that I report to this wonderful audience that our show is over," the tweet read. "I just officially got the call, and would like to thank this audience for its incredible love and loyalty. Please watch our January episodes."

Which company does it better?
It's often said that a good soundtrack makes the movie, and in the case of animated features that's often true. Hans Zimmer and Randy Newman are staples of the Dreamworks and Pixar music world respectively for their influential film scores - but that doesn't mean to say they are also better than soundtrack song selections.

Disney wouldn't be Disney without these fellas.
Disney and Pixar have had some of the most inventive and adorable characters ever seen in film, and it's difficult to choose the most memorable. It's the kooky little sidekicks and protective companions that make the films so popular, and in some cases are the reason for their continued success.
Here are ten of our favourite Disney side characters:
1. Olaf ('Frozen') - Now the name of every child's snowman, this quirky little fella came to life with Elsa's power and his optimism is infectious. He loves the idea of summer and warmth, and even risked melting just to protect Anna because 'Some people are worth melting for'.

Will 2017 be just as good as this year for family flicks?
After the likes of 'Finding Dory', 'Zootopia', 'The Jungle Book', 'Moana' and 'Kubo And The Two Strings' this year, 2017 has a lot to live up to with the family films on offer. However, there's at least one Disney live-action film, three sequels and a list of animated adventures to sink your teeth into over the next few months.
Here are the top 10 kids films we're looking forward to:
1. Beauty and the Beast
More characters we can't wait to fall in love with.
'Finding Dory' is definitely on the way now, and with it a whole host of lovable new characters. It takes place just a year after the events of 'Finding Nemo', even if it's taken more than ten years for this sequel to finally arrive. We're sure it'll be worth the wait.
Squirt the little sea turtle
Directed by Andrew Stanton and Angus MacLane, 'Finding Dory' is set to arrive on June 17th 2016. While it was disappointing to learn that we won't be hearing Michael Sheen's voice in the movie after all since he was edited out of the final cut, the new characters that did make it are still inescapably awesome.
This is our kind of scavenger hunt.
Everyone likes a good Easter Egg hunt this time of year, but one of our favourites involves searching them out in iconic films. Of course, these 'Easter eggs' aren't of the chocolate variety, merely snippets from films containing amusing inside jokes or tributes to other movies.
In honour of all the scavenger hunts that will be happening amongst children tomorrow as they set about discovering what the Easter bunny has left, we reflect on some more sophisticated kind of 'Easter eggs'; that is, the various hidden meanings in some of our favourite movies.

To celebrate the release of the new 'Aladdin' blu-ray, the animation’s directors have been spilling some secrets.
Aladdin directors Ron Clements and John Musker have decided to confirm and debunk a few myths about the classic animation, to celebrate the release of the Aladdin: Diamond Edition on Blu-Ray. Speaking to E!, the directors set the record straight on a few things, including one long-held fan theory about Robin Williams’ Genie.
Robin Williams voiced the Genie in Aladdin.
It’s been long believed by many Aladdin fans that the peddler who appears at the beginning of the film is the Genie, as both characters are voice by Robin Williams and it seems they were correct. "I saw something that speculates that the peddler at the beginning of Aladdin is the Genie. That's true!" Clements said.

Timber from Banksy’s Dismaland is being sent to the migrant camp at Calais to build shelters.
Banksy’s pop-up art installation, Dismaland, is being dismantled but he’s made a very special request and one which will help thousands of people living in extremely difficult conditions. Walt Disney Co. will break ground on two attractions, one in California and the other in Florida, next year.
The Disney corporation will begin construction on two new Star Wars attractions in 2016, according to the company’s Chief Operating Officer Thomas Staggs. Both will be built in Disney’s two existing theme parks in Florida and California.
The areas, which will be themed ‘lands’ at each park, will be 14 acres each, representing the largest single-themed expansions in terms of size in Disney’s history, according to the news that was announced on Thursday (September 10th).
Disney bought out Lucasfilm, which holds the rights to all things Star Wars, for $4.06 billion back in 2012. Staggs, speaking at the Bank of America-Merrill Lynch 2015 Media, Communications and Entertainment Conference in Beverly Hills, remained tight-lipped as to when the attractions would actually be opened, but we already have a rough idea as to what the attractions will include when they do.
