Die Hard Star Bruce Willis Is Planning To Add A Sixth Installment To The Iconic Action Franchise.
Last week (ends18Oct15), it was reported that Len Wiseman, the director of 2007's Live Free Or Die Hard, known as Die Hard 4.0 in the U.K., is in talks to helm a new movie featuring renegade police officer John MCClane.
Now Bruce has confirmed work has started on the sixth Die Hard, and the current plan is for the story to focus on the origins of his famous character.
"It's a very good idea, a really tricky idea, and I'm very happy about it," Bruce tells ET.com.
"I'm probably going to produce it, we'll see how it goes. It's a really cool idea, because it's the origin story. It's gonna happen at the beginning of this. We're going to bounce back and forth."
The actor indicated he has yet to decide who could play a younger version of his character, saying, "We'll see. I don't know, we're not there yet, but hopefully he's got a hard head."
The last Die Hard release, 2013's A Good Day to Die Hard, grossed $304.7 million (£190.4 million) at the global box office despite negative reviews.
