The 87-year-old Mary Poppins star pulled out of an event at the 92nd Street Y (92Y) community centre, citing "fatigue and lack of sleep resulting from symptoms of a yet-to-be diagnosed neurological disorder," according to his representative.
The spokesperson tells Entertainment Tonight Van Dyke has cancelled a string of commitments requiring air travel, based on doctor's orders, and is resting at home in Malibu, California.
The veteran entertainer was to be the recipient of 92Y's first Lifetime Achievement Award for Bettering Humanity through Comedy next Friday (26Apr13).
