The Ladies Of "Destiny's Child" Back Together In Summery "Say Yes" Video

Michelle Williams Beyonce Knowles Kelly Rowland Destiny's Child

Are we all sufficiently in love with Destiny’s Child still? For those fans, who still live for the trio’s reunion, Michelle Williams just dropped the video to her latest, Jesus-praising song, Say Yes!

Michelle Williams
Michelle's new album, Journey to Freedom, is due out in September.

The video focuses on the feel-good tone and the message of unity, instead of the religious aspect of the song. It’s an endearing video, as Michelle, Beyonce and Kelly pop up in succession in their respective scenes, before the actual reunion takes place at what looks like a giant party towards the end.

Solange Knowles has become the star of her own magazine spread after Harper's Bazaar featured the R&B singer in their latest issue. Solange Knowles
Solange Knowles Opens Up In An Insightful New Harper's Bazaar Interview.

The sisters have always cultivated very different styles, which is useful considering they look so physically similar. Has Kelly Rowland Revealed A New Destiny's Child Song?

Kelly Rowland Destiny's Child

Kelly Rowland looks to have revealed a new track that has been credited to all three members of Destiny's Child. 'You've Changed' features on Rowland's forthcoming studio album Talk A Good Game but has been credited on the LP to all three of the girlgroup (Michelle Williams and Beyonce Knowles) according to the NME.

In what promises to be the most intensely personal record of Rowland's solo career to-date, the star has already been out on the road performing some of it, and her first night in Washington DC was particularly eventful as she broke down in tears during the performance of new single 'Dirty Laundry'. Rowland has already commented in the press that the track is particularly sensitive one to her, given that is addresses not only past relationships, but also her friendship with former Destiny's Child band mate Beyonce. And the star was in tears as she sang the song to the mass crowd in the US capital (read more).

In yet more Rowland news, she was recently confirmed to be appearing on the US X Factor as a judge, along side Mexican singer and actress Paulina Rubio, Simon Cowell and Demi Lovato. Rowland and Rubio replace LA Reid and Britney Spears, and Rowland does have previous X Factor experience, having appeared as a judge on the UK version of the show.

Beyonce's Bucket List: World Tour, New Album, More Babies

Beyonce Knowles Jay Z Destiny's Child

Beyonce has a sold-out world tour on the horizon, a new album in the works, and a potential reunion with her old group Destiny's Child, though it appears the R&B superstar has another ambition for the coming years: another baby. Bey and husband Jay-Z are, of course, parents to one-year-old daughter Blue Ivy, though the singer insists she wants more children.

Beyonce covers the March issue of Vogue and gushed about her first year of motherhood in the accompanying interview. "Right now, after giving birth, I really understand the power of my body," she told the magazine's Jason Gay. "I just feel my body means something completely different. I feel a lot more confident about it. Even being heavier, thinner, whatever.I feel a lot more like a woman. More feminine, more sensual. And no shame." Beyonce's love for her little girl in indisputable, though the Single Ladies hit-maker hammered home their relationship, calling Blue Ivy "my home, my best friend."

It's shaping up to be a busy few years for Beyonce - and husband Jay-Z is set to jet off on a stadium tour with the returning Justin Timberlake - however, she noted, "When I was younger, there were moments where I said, 'I'm not going to have children. And then moments when I wanted four. And now I definitely want another, but I don't know when."

Amanda Bynes Calls Jay-Z "ugly Face" On Twitter Then Backtracks

Amanda Bynes Jay Z Destiny's Child Beyonce Knowles

So, Amanda Bynes calls Jay-Z 'ugly face'. That's fine, isn't it? It's not as if 'ugly face' is the worst thing anyone's ever been called - it sounds like an 8-year-old's insult. Although, she did post a picture of Jay-Z to accompany the juvenile jab. Yeah, that's worse.

It was as simple as that; a picture of Jay-Z wearing glasses, and looking like his car's about to be towed, with the caption "Ugly Face". That was posted to her 275k followers, and that's not very nice, Bynes. But she did kind of realize what she'd done - possibly getting on the wrong side of both the self-appointed CEO of hip-hop and, basically, queen of everything Beyonce AND, probably, by extension, her Destiny's Child girls. It's not worth it, Amanda, it can't be. It's also worth mentioning that her Twitter account could easily have been hacked; it's happened before (to others) and by the lords of the Internet, it'll happen again.

The 26-year-old hasn't exactly been enjoying a quiet and polite existence. The seemingly troubled star has endured run-ins with the law, misdemeanours, hit-and-runs, a DUI arrest and other traffic violations, and during all that, she decided to quit acting. No one from the Bynes camp has commented yet, so it'll be interesting to see how they play the Jay-Z tweet situation. Mr Carter is also yet to respond to the tweet, and we're pretty sure he never will.

Can We Expect A Full Destiny's Child Reunion? What Are The Chances?

Destiny's Child Beyonce Knowles Kelly Rowland Michelle Williams

After a show-stopping half-time show at this year’s Super Bowl, what exactly does the future hold for Destiny’s Child? They’ve admitted that their new track ‘Nuclear’ was recorded in a hurry. Will they be trying to make amends by spending a bit more time in the recording studio and trying to better their back catalogue with a new slew of songs? Or was Beyonce merely using Michelle and Kelly as pawns in a bid to build the hype around her post-baby career and Super Bowl performance?

The bulk of the hype surrounding Beyonce (ok, putting aside all the lip-sync nonsense) was over whether or not the band would reunite for the performance. We all knew they would, of course and they did a terrible job of pretending otherwise but the build-up was half the fun. When it came to the actual performance, though, there was no pretending who the real star of the show was. Whilst Beyonce oozed sass and confidence, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams showed the nerves of two performers unused to performing to such a huge audience (let’s not forget the TV viewers at home, let alone those in the stadium) and ended up looking like little more than Beyonce’s hand-picked backing dancers / vocalists. Does Beyonce really need a Destiny’s Child reunion? We think not.

Looking at Beyonce’s recently announced tour dates, she’ll be heading off in a few weeks to start the tour on April 15 and won’t be done until August. The pop world is unforgiving and has a short memory - much of the Destiny’s Child reunion hype will have died down by then. Plus, as career driven as she clearly is, she will most likely want a bit of quality time with Blue Ivy and Jay Z once she’s done shaking her thighs all across the globe. Fun though that reunion was, we don’t think Kelly and Michelle should sit waiting for Bey’s call for too long.

Drake's Super Bowl Party Gets Shut Down By Cops

Drake Beyonce Knowles Destiny's Child

It would appear as though Drake takes the Super Bowl seriously. The rapper let the NFL finale celebrations go a bit too far, having a party that reportedly STARTED at 5.15am and had to be shut down by the cops... twice.

Luckily for Drake, though, the officers didn't take a report, a citation wasn't issued and he was let off with a caution. According to E!, neighbours weren't delighted with the noise coming from the rapper's place in the wee hours of Monday morning, and phoned the police, who had to turn up twice to get it closed down so everybody could get some sleep. Drake's been pretty stressed lately; he's been trying to get Macy's and Walgreens to pay him royalties for selling a t-shirt with the slogan, YOLO on it - the acronym for you only live once made famous by the Canadian. "Walgreens...you gotta either chill or cut the cheque," he tweeted, before posting an Instagram shot of the shirt in question, which stated, "Macy's...same goes for you."

The cops probably had a busy night on Super Bowl Sunday, as Beyonce's reunification with the girls from Destiny's Child and their emphatic performance got a lot of people excited, and probably drunk. Oh and there was a football game too; Baltimore Ravens beat the San Fransisco 69ers 34 to 31.

Did Beyonce's Half Time Show At The Super Bowl 2013 Blow The Lights?

Beyonce Knowles Destiny's Child

We all know Beyonce has one of the most powerful voices out there - pre-recorded or not, but was her half time show at the Super Bowl 2013 enough to cause the Superdome power outage?

Well, sadly: no. We really wanted it to be true, but despite the fire machines, powerful lighting and huge screens, Beyonce's and her Destiny's Child pals didn't caused power outage that halted the Super Bowl XLVII. "This is clearly something that can be fixed. And it's clearly something we can prepare for. And we will. In future we will make sure we do everything possible to avoid this once we've identified the cause," explained NFL commissioner Roger Goodell. "There is one other point that I guess I have seen a little speculation about. There is no indication at all that this was caused by the half-time show. Absolutely none. There is nothing here to say that Beyonce's half-time show had something to do with it. That is not the case," he added, according to The Guardian.

Beyonce answered her critics in style with the half time show. She showed up with the band that made her, Destiny's Child, and took, arguably, the biggest stage in the American calendar, and made it her own. Elsewhere, there was a football match, and it finished with the Baltimore Ravens defeating the San Francisco 49ers by 34 to 31.

Cryptic Comment? What Was Beyonce Telling Us With 'Can I Live' Sweater?

Beyonce Knowles Destiny's Child Jay Z Michelle Williams Kelly Rowland

Is this a cryptic comment from Beyonce? The Destiny’s Child singer has made no comment since she faced a barrage of abuse for apparently lip-syncing the national anthem at the Presidential Inauguration last week. On Saturday night, though, she posted a picture of herself on Instagram, wearing a sweater emblazoned with the words “Can I live?”

Was Beyonce asking, ‘will you let me get on with my life now?’ Or perhaps it was a play on whether or not she can sing live? It looks as though the photo was taken at a stadium, most likely the Mercedes-Benz Arena in New Orleans where her half time performance for this year’s Super Bowl will take place. Given that the singer hasn’t made any comment so far, we’re certain that she wanted to make some kind of statement over the drama surrounding her Super Bowl appearance, whether it was an implicit statement, or an ambiguous one. Having said that, she could just have been playing the loyal wife and helping promote her husband’s music, as Jay-Z has a song entitled ‘Can I Live?’

Anticipation is mounting over her Super Bowl performance now – not least because of the recent scandal. The Super Bowl entertainment is always a big deal, though usually the gossip / outrage (remember Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake?) comes after the performance, rather than before. Still, Beyonce’s never been one to do things by the book. It’s expected that she will be joined by her Destiny’s Child band mates Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams

From The Super-Bowl To The Brit Awards? Will Beyoncé Perform In UK Next Month?

Beyonce Knowles Destiny's Child Jay Z One Direction Muse Robbie Williams

In the word of pop music, there is no property hotter than Beyoncé right now. Beyoncé doesn’t really even have to make any music to be the hottest property in pop. She just has to… be. Rumour has it, though that the Destinys Child singer might be making a little trip over to Blighty to perform at next month’s Brit Awards, according to the Guardian.

She’s not nominated for any awards or anything, but that wouldn’t stop her performance being the probable highlight of the Brit Awards. As far as coups go, this is pretty much the biggest one that the organisers of the Brits could possibly hope for. Unless they got Jay Z too. Anyone that watched Beyoncé’s Glastonbury Festival slot will testify to the might of her live performances. If it happens, she could well make these Brit Awards one to remember (though possibly never as memorable as the year that Jarvis Cocker waggled his posterior to the cameras during Michael Jackson’s performance).

Beyoncé hasn’t performed at the Brit awards since 2004. She’s soon due to perform at the Super Bowl and also at Barack Obama’s second presidential inauguration. The Brits will take place on February 20, 2013 at London’s O2 Arena. One Direction, Muse and Robbie Williams are also expected to perform.

Michelle Williams Depression Revealed Ahead Of New Material

Michelle Williams Destiny's Child

Michelle Williams - one third of Destiny's Child - is set for a whirlwind few months with a new single about to be released, a new album in the pipeline and the national tour of a Broadway musical on the horizon.

However, it has become apparent that none of that would have been possible if she hadn't overcome a serious bout of depression, which she kicked aside with regular exercise, therapy and positive thinking. "I've dealt with depression," the 32-year-old said during a break in rehearsals for a new touring production of "Fela!" that kicks off later this month. "I had to choose to get out of bed and do whatever I needed to do to be happy." She also revealed that religion got her through some pretty tough times, but can't get you through everything. "We're taught, 'Just go to church and pray about it. The Lord is going to heal you.' Well, in the meantime, I believe God-gifted people, physicians, doctors, therapists -- that's your healing. Take advantage of it," she said. "Go see a professional so that they can assess you. It's OK if you're going through something. Depression is not OK, but it is OK to go get help."

Jan. 29 sees Destiny's Child release "Love Songs," a collection of previously released songs as well as a new track co-written by Williams, "Nuclear," the group's first new recording since 2004.

Destiny's Child 'Nuclear' Available Online - Does It Meet Expectations? (Video)

Beyonce Knowles Destiny's Child Michelle Williams Kelly Rowland

Destiny's Child haven't just promised to return, they really have. Their first single, called 'Nuclear', has been uploaded online today and the jury's out on the track so far.

Comments on the YouTube video are indecisive. Some are dubbing it very '90s, which it isn't really. To call it 'oldschool' even is inaccurate. While there are certain aspects of the track that are reminiscent of a Brandy track or two, the production is distinctly contemporary. Despite being an R&B group, there is something of underground alternative bands such as MS MR, or even (and we're pushing the boat way out here) School of Seven Bells, in there somewhere too. Of course the sultry tones of Beyonce, Michelle Williams and Kelly Roland keep it very much 'Destiny's Child'. Dreamy and low tempo but repetitive and with a catchy melody, it's primed and ready for remixes and acoustic covers.

Having said this, it's understandable for fans to be somewhat downhearted. Their music has reached a level of maturation that fans may not have wanted them to read. The days of 'Bootylicious' are not gone, per se, but it is certainly a product of the past. Beyonce is married and has a child now, while that isn't necessarily the be all and end all of being young and fun, singing a song with the lyrics "They want to know how we keep our sh*t together / They're wondering / It's just evolution / We're just getting better" makes sense.

Are Destiny's Child Trying To Pull The Wool Over Our Eyes?

Beyonce Knowles Destiny's Child Michelle Williams Kelly Rowland

The R&B world rejoiced this week with news that Destiny's Child are to return with new material. Though website and blogs - us included - have been banding about the words "comeback" and "reunion" with regards to Beyonce, Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland, are we all getting ahead of ourselves?

We do know that the multi-million selling trio have recorded a new track, 'Nuclear' produced by Pharrell Williams, though there's no guarantee the women were even in the studio at the same time and there's certainly no indication of further releases or live shows. In a week that has seen the surprise comeback of David Bowie, Beyonce posted an excited message on her website, "I am so proud to announce the first original Destiny's Child music in eight years!" she wrote. However, for now, all we know is that the girls have recorded the track to sell their forthcoming compilation album, Love Songs, set for release on January 29, 2013. The song closes out the new album, which comprises of the group's greatest love songs, including Second Nature, Now That She's Gone, Emotion and If You Love. It's difficult to envisage Beyonce teaming up with Williams and Rowland for anything substantial and she seems far more concerned with her fifth studio album, telling GQ recently, "I've been working with Pharrell and Timbaland and Justin Timberlake and [The] Dream. We all started in the '90s, when R&B was the most important genre, and we all kind of want that back: the feeling that music gave us."

In their first spell together, Destiny's Child became the biggest R&B group in the world with hits including Bills, Bills, Bills and Bootylicious and Survivor.

Destiny's Child Are Coming Back, 2013 Is Truly The Year Of Beyonce

Beyonce Knowles Destiny's Child Kelly Rowland Michelle Williams

We don't want to polarize Destiny's Child as being Beyoncé's and Beyoncé's alone, but she's definitely Queen B in more ways than simply nominatively. It was via her website that the official announcement that we'll be able to indulge in brand new Destiny's Child material in just a month's time was released. It's extraordinarily exciting piece of news, and one which is the cherry on the top of a Beyoncé Knowles 2013 dessert.

As well as the return of the band that brought us Bootylicious and Independent Women, advocating all aspects of the power of women, Beyoncé is continuing to take over the world, one enormous step at a time, Beyoncé's 2013 is really rather full. She'll be performing at the Superbowl half time show in February, she has also been in the studio with hubby Jay-Z recording new music for her own new album, plus she signed an enormous deal with Pepsi recently. It was reportedly worth $50m, and wouldn't just be a standard contract in which she traditionally appear in print and film ads, but one which included financial support from Pepsi to fund Beyoncé's creative projects. Plus, she'll be starring in an animated adventure from Blue Sky, called 'Epic' which will be released later in the year.

While Beyonce is, of course, amazing, we must turn to what can be expected from the new record. With pre-release sale price that would indicate it to be a full album, that much is clear. But with a name like 'Love Songs' what can be expected from it in terms of the most important aspect of any album: the sound. Will it be a return to the upbeat, strong, feminist sound of Survivor, or will Destiny's Child have toned down in their maturation after 8 years since their last original music was released? We suspect, given the music created most recently by Beyonce and Michelle Williams, for it to be a little softer. But, with Knowles, Williams and Kelly Rowland at the helm, whatever it is, it'll be great.

BBC Sound Of 2013. Introducing Haim, Your New Favourite Band

AlunaGeorge Haim Angel Haze Fleetwood Mac Destiny's Child TLC

The BBC’s Sound of 2013 winners have finally been announced. The US band Haim say that they have “found our second home in the UK!” and after extensive press coverage on these shores, since they started making waves at 2012’s SXSW festival in Austin Texas, they have become a hotly-tipped band. It’s no surprise then, that their accessible, ‘80s influenced guitar sound has earned them a place at the top of this year’s poll, beating AlunaGeorge and Angel Haze, who sit behind them in the race.

So who exactly are Haim, then? 21 year old Alana, 23 year old Danielle and 26 year-old Este are three sisters, making music that sounds as though it’s inspired as much by Fleetwood Mac as it is by their own self-confessed influences of TLC and Destiny’s Child. These are a girl group in a more traditional sense though; a guitar band with pop sensibilities; credibility lends weight to their songwriting and their extrovert personalities have certainly made recent interviews in the UK press an entertaining read.

One of the first magazines to champion Haim were NME. The publication’s new music editor Matt Wilkinson said “After years of boring indie bands who seem to almost be embarrassed to be featured on mainstream radio or in magazines like NME, Haim are a shining light. Not only do they write brilliant songs, but they also want to be a really big deal… the fact they are now getting wider recognition is no real surprise - they have a knack for writing amazingly catchy singles, they're a killer live band and they talk-the-talk miles better than most other new bands. It's a rare and exciting combination.”

Beyoncé Will Sing National Anthem At The 47th Superbowl Half Time Show.

Beyonce Knowles Destiny's Child Jay Z Clint Eastwood Madonna Nicki Minaj

The last time Beyonce performed at the Superbowl was 2004, when she performed the national anthem. Since then, life has changed a lot for her; Destiny's Child broke up, she made an explosive re-entrance as a solo artist, has won countless awards, created an acting career for herself, married Jay-Z and this year has become a mother. Now, to add to her successes she has been asked to perform at next year's 47th Superbowl Half Time Show.

Rumours began when she officially backed out of starring in Clint Eastwood's remake of 'A Star is Born'. She cited scheduling problems and just too much to do, but without anything particularly clear on the horizon, no album, no major films coming up, no album being talked about, fans were a little confused. A source has confirmed to the Associated Press that Beyoncé will be the performer at the half time show, which will be held at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, on February 3rd of next year. There has been no word from Beyoncé or any representative of hers, but we can expect to hear from them on Wednesday.

This year's Superbowl half time show was an extraordinary performance from Madonna alongside a plethora of incredible American performers including Cee Lo Green, M.I.A., Nicki Minaj and LMFAO. 114 million people watched the show, which is more than watched the game, reports the Huffington Post. Hot on everyone's lips at the moment is the discussion of who will be joining Beyoncé in the show.

Destiny’s Child
Hi Bigger how ya doing

Bigger
I’m good, its good to see you again, you’ve always managed to come with the goods, but I’ve gotta say, my word, on this album from a total R&B perspective ‘Cater to U’, “Girl”, ‘T-Shirt,’ ‘If’, ‘She’s The Reason’, ‘Soldier’ this is arguable your finest work to date do you think?

Destiny’s Child
I was nervous then when you said “but I’ve gotta say”. It means a lot to us when someone like you say’s that. Thank you so much

document.write(''); Bigger
So how do you feel about the album?

Destiny’s Child
Well we defiantly feel like this is some of our best work, we had a lot of growth especially since we had 3 years apart from each other. I think that has caused all of us to grow and to learn and I think all of that knowledge came back into Destiny’s Child. Which made it a little bit more interesting cos there’s so much to talk about on this record, it tells a story from start to finish.

Bigger
Lyrically you seem to be getting stronger and stronger do you feel because of the solo careers and as you are as artists you’ve grown so far yourselves in recent years has that helped you as a unit as far as Destiny’s’ Child is concerned?

Destiny’s Child
Yeah the growth is something that we needed to do, everybody is pleased with what they’ve done there’s not a song on the album that we don’t wanna hear it, again and again.

Bigger
With the success you’ve had as arguably the biggest group in the world and all the hard work you have to put in touring and promoting an album what on earth possessed you to go and do the solo careers

Destiny’s Child
(Kelly laughs and replies) Well I think that DC had been out for so long that I think we wanted to give the audience a break. I think that’s really important to let yourself just breathe for a minute, but none of us really breathed. Michelle jumped right into her record I remember after that the song with Nelly came out I didn’t get a break and Beyonce has defiantly not had a break. All of us have really been on a run and it’s a blessing cos to do a solo project is not easy when you’ve been in a group. Then to come back to the group the world thought it wasn’t going to be easy for us. But after we did ‘Survivor’ we did say that we were gonna do solo projects and we did say that we was gonna come back together and do another album and that’s exactly what happened. The one thing that the world knows about DC is that we do keep our word.

Bigger
I bet there was a lot of doubters out there that thought is this the beginning of the end for DC but you’ve proved them wrong so well done. Lets talk about the singles which have all been very strong but lets talk about ‘Lose My Breath’ because you went back and worked with Rodney ‘Darkchild’ Jerkins how did the reunion come back around with Rodney?

Destiny’s Child
It’s wonderful, its so funny cos Michelle and Beyonce had heard the backing track for Lose My Breath first and they called me from the studio and they were like, you don’t understand this track is amazing I can’t wait till you hear it, they kept saying you have got to hear the drums, they sounded so excited so I was so excited, so I went to the studio the next day and I heard it and I was like this track is definitely a single so we did Lose My Breath on last day of recording and that’s how we got our first single but we had recorded Soldier early on.
