Dennis Rodman has been ordered to pay more than $42,000 in back taxes to the State of California.
DENNIS RODMAN, the former Chicago Bulls NBA star, owes over $42,000 in unpaid taxes, reports the Los Angeles Times.A tax lien of $42,497 was filed against Rodman back on 11th May 2010 in California's Orange County. However, the 49-year-old's business manager PEGGY KING denies that such debt exists, saying, "We just got a refund check from the state for $42,000 or $43,000. If you owed the money, you'd never get a check from them ... it's got to be incorrect". It's not the first time that the NBA star has found himself in trouble over unpaid taxes. Back in 2007, the IRS filed a $165,818 lien against him, and in 2006 a $283,087 lien was filed. The news comes shortly before Rodman is due to be honoured by the Detroit Pistons NBA team. The 49-year-old played the first seven seasons of his career in Detroit and the team are set to retire his legendary No. 10 jersey during a halftime show on 1st April 2011.
In recent years, Rodman has made a number of television appearances, most recently on 'Celebrity Apprentice' in 2009. His misbehaviour on the show led to his family and friends urging him to seek rehabilitation and he appeared on 'Celebrity Rehab with Dr Drew' in 2010.
