Beckham, according to reports in the Telegraph, had collected his 15-year-old son Brooklyn from training at Arsenal's training grounds in Hertfordshire when the incident occurred. The accident occurred shortly after 1pm on Saturday (29th November).

The police, speaking to the BBC, explained an accident had occurred in London Colney, Hertfordshire. They declined to comment on who was involved in the incident but explained a grey Audi RS6 had collided with a silver Mitsubishi Colt. It is believed Beckham was driving the Audi and an unnamed woman was driving the Mitsubishi.

The police further stated the male driver (Beckham) had sustained slight injury. His injuries do not appear to be serious as a source, speaking to the Telegraph, claimed both David and Brooklyn Beckham were "uninjured" but "shaken" after the accident.

The source, close to the Beckham family, said: "They were shaken. It was quite a heavy prang at quite a speed but everybody walked away uninjured. Everybody's fine. Thankfully the car's airbags deployed."

The former England captain has four children with his wife of 15 years, Victoria Beckham. His three sons - Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz - appear to be following in their father's footsteps as they are all playing for underage teams for major football clubs. Brooklyn recently signed a 12 month contract with Arsenal under-16s and was leaving their training grounds after a match when the accident occurred. Romeo (aged 12) and Cruz (aged 9) have also been playing for Arsenal's other underage teams.
