David Beckham's 40th birthday celebrations, which took place in Morocco, reportedly cost £50,000.
David Beckham's 40th birthday celebrations cost a reputed £50,000.
The retired soccer player celebrated his milestone birthday with an extravagant party at a six-star resort just outside Marrakech in Morocco at the weekend and he and wife Victoria spared no expense to ensure their guests, who included actress Eva Longoria, celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay and former Spice Girls Emma Bunton and Mel C, were comfortable.
David and Victoria also took their four children, Brooklyn, 16, Romeo, 12, Cruz, 10, and three-year-old Harper, with them to the idyllic location.
A source told the new issue of Closer magazine: ''David and Victoria splashed out over £50k putting up their friends and family.
''They rented out six of the Amanjena hotel's two-storey maisons and 10 of the hotel's villas.
''Victoria booked the Al Hamra Maison, the resort's largest guest house, which costs £2,418 a night, has a private butler, private pool and its own garden for intimate dinner parties.''
And as well as high-end accommodation, the couple also ensured their guests were kept busy.
The source added: ''Guests were to be treated to a lavish feast by world-renowned chef Ludovic Gomeiro, as well as a grand dinner, followed by a special fireworks display to officially mark David's birthday.
''They treated everyone to luxury spa treatments and arranged a personal tour around the city - they wanted it to be a trip to remember.''
David was delighted with the extravagant bash and took to his newly created Instagram account on Saturday (02.05.15) to thank his wife Victoria for all her hard work organising the celebration.
He posted: ''Thanks to my beautiful wife for such an amazing day x (sic)''
