Former Soccer Star David Beckham Has Dismissed Suggestions He Is Preparing To Rebrand Himself As An Actor.
The Brit has landed roles in movies by his director friend Guy Ritchie, including bit parts in The Man From U.N.C.L.E. and King Arthur, and recently hinted at a Hollywood move, saying, "I am very aware that many sportsmen and other celebrities have turned their hand to acting and failed. I know that it is a tough profession, where you need a huge amount of skill and discipline, and I wouldn't want to push myself forward too soon, without learning more about it, and doing a lot more practice, but what I have done so far, I have loved."
However, Beckham is adamant he has no concrete plans to focus on film, telling Britain's The Guardian newspaper, "(Ritchie) has asked me to be in a couple of things - which I do as fun because I know he's not going to make me look silly. And I really trust him (which is why I did) The Man from U.N.C.L.E. and King Arthur. But (acting) is not something I'm looking to go into even though people have said I'm launching my acting career. I'm not, it's just been a lot of fun and something I've really enjoyed."
