Daniel Radcliffe completed an hour-long shift as a receptionist at a magazine’s head office and proved himself to be an absolutely incompetent in the role. Check out the funny video!
If Daniel Radcliffe’s acting career was suddenly over and he happened to find himself penniless, there’s one job he certainly shouldn’t apply for. The Harry Potter tried his hand at being a receptionist for a magazine and the experiment failed, quite miserably.

The staff at Nylon magazine were in for a surprise when Radcliffe decided to step into the shoes of their receptionist, Lauren, for an hour. For some the surprise was pleasant, for others utterly bemusing. Radcliffe’s antics were filmed by the magazine and shared online in a video which has, to date, been viewed over 400,000 times.
The 25-year-old actor was offered some helpful, and pretty simple advice, advice by the magazine’s usual receptionist before he started his short shift. The three things he had to do was to keep the Nylon sign switched on, make sure the latest Nylon edition was on display and to always keep smiling.
Sadly, it was all a little too much for Radcliffe and he declared it to be “the hardest thing” he’d ever done. He admitted to be largely incompetent in the role and struggled to complete even the most basic of tasks, including finding stamps, calling an extension and arranging a delivery. He eventually resorted to taking pictures with members of the staff who were fans.

For some staff members, it took them a little while to clock on to the fact Radcliffe was actually in their office but when they did many praised him for his acting. Others did not even recognise Radcliffe and continued to ask him receptionist related questions to which he did not have even a vague answer to.
Fortunately for Radcliffe, and the staff at Nylon, the next few years are already looking fairly busy with filming and film releases. His upcoming film, Victor Frankenstein, is currently in post-production and he’s already promoting it at such events as San Diego’s Comic Con.
