Dan Stevens has joined the cast of the film inspired by Bumble founder Whitney Wolfe Herd.

The 41-year-old actor is to star alongside Lily James in the untitled movie that is in pre-production ahead of filming starting this year.

It has not yet been confirmed who Dan will be playing in the film, but insiders say that he's set to portray Wolfe Herd's business partner.

Wolfe Herd launched the online dating site Bumble in 2014 after leaving rival Tinder in the same year due to tensions with executives.

The company went public in 2021 and made Wolfe Herd one of the youngest self-made billionaires aged 31.

She stepped down as CEO last year but left behind a massively successful app with numerous divisions that continue to thrive.

Plot details are somewhat vague as the picture is only inspired by Whitney's life and it is not known how much it will compare to her actual story. The film is slated for release in 2025.

Rachel Lee Goldenberg is directing the movie from a script she has written with Bill Parker and Kim Caramele while Lily is serving as a producer as she looks to expand her work behind the camera.

The movie is the latest project that Stevens is attached to as it was revealed last month that he is due to appear with Al Pacino in the exorcism horror flick 'The Ritual'.

It follows a pair of priests – one who is questioning his faith (Stevens) and another reckoning with a troubled past (Pacino) – who have to put their differences aside to save a possessed young woman through a dangerous series of exorcisms.

The flick is an authentic portrayal of Emma Schmidt, an American woman whose demonic possession concluded with harrowing exorcisms.
