Fact: The Da Vinci Code author Dan Brown has donated 300,000 euros ($335,000) to the Ritman Library in Amsterdam, Holland, where he researched his bestsellers The Lost Symbol and Inferno. The cash hand-out will help preserve the library's ancient works.

Fact: Popular novelist Dan Brown is set to make a 2013 return. His new book, Inferno, will hit shelves in May (13). The story will once again feature his most famous character, symbologist Robert Langdon, who has been played by Tom Hanks in two big screen adaptations of Brown's books.

Fact: The highly anticipated follow-up to Dan Brown's hit novel The Da Vinci Code has broken records before its release - it is the publisher's largest ever first print run, with 6.5 million copies set to hit the shelves in September (09). The movie adaptation of the first book, starring Tom Hanks, was a box office smash, grossing more than $758 million (£505 million) worldwide.

The location raised $36,000 (GBP20,000) by allowing film-crews to use it for the Holy Grail thriller by author Dan Brown. </p>
