'Fifty Shades Darker' is the tense new sequel to the erotic 2015 thriller 'Fifty Shades of Grey', based on the book trilogy of the same name by E. L. James. It sees the return of Anasatasia Steele and Christian Grey, though this time their relationship is more complicated than ever especially when secrets from the latter's past surface. Secrets aren't the only things either; this couple's romantic escapades are interrupted by a terrifying undercurrent of danger. Directed by James Foley ('House of Cards') - who has also signed on for trilogy finale 'Fifty Shades Freed' - and written by Niall Leonard ('Wire in the Blood', 'Monarch of the Glen'), 'Fifty Shades Darker' will be released on February 10th 2017.
When Ana and Christian had their first fateful meeting, neither party knew much about the real person they were meeting. Christian didn't know just how naive Ana really was and Ana didn't quite understand just how dark Christian's thoughts ran. Though from completely different backgrounds and living entirely different lives, the pair were attracted to one another and they began a relationship - one mainly brought about after Christian seducing Ana, his latest younger woman. As dark secrets were uncovered, it became known to Ana that Christian was into BDSM. Still wishing to go ahead with the relationship, Ana finds out just how far Christian is willing to go to get his thrills but realises that she can't be with a man who inflicts that level of pain on someone they care about.
Time passes, Christian continues with his business lifestyle and Ana starts a new job at a publishing house and the former lovers reunite whilst at an exhibition of photography put on by one of Ana's friends. Christian begins to realise that his feelings for Ana run deeper than the usual dominant / submissive roles that usually define his relationships. With Ana now setting the rules, the pair begin a true relationship but as stories about Christian's past are revealed and Ana is introduced to some of the women that involve his past, neither party know exactly how they'll make their relationship work without sacrificing certain aspects.
Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson reprise their roles as Christian and Ana respectively. Kim Basinger is introduced to the plot as Elena Lincoln a lady Ana nicknames Mrs. Robinson after learning that she seduced Christian whilst still of a young age. Whilst Rookie Blue actor Eric Johnson is cast as Jack Hyde and Bella Heathcote as Leila Williams.

The annual awards celebrate the year’s worst film’s ahead of the Oscars.
It’s the only awards show in town where no one wants to hear their name read out, the annual Razzie awards. The awards, which celebrate the worst Hollywood has to offer, took place last night (February 27th), with Fifty Shades Of Grey and Fantastic Four among the big winners, or should we say losers.
Fifty Shades of Grey took home five awards at the 2016 Razzies.
Fifty Shades of Grey took home five awards, with Jamie Dornan being named worst actor and Dakota Johnson worst actress, the pair were then together named worst screen combo. The film’s scriptwriter Kelly Marcel also nabbed worst screenplay.
There isn't much originality in this rude female-led comedy, but its observations on single life are a nicely updated twist on the Sex and the City formula. The film is also often very funny, keeping the energy levels high while refusing to go down the usual narrative route in each of the loosely intertwined plot-strands.
It's set in New York, of course, where Alice (Dakota Johnson) is newly single and starting a new job. Her colleague Robin (Rebel Wilson) takes her under her wing, teaching her how to be single in the big city. Alice's sister Meg (Leslie Mann) is a maternity doctor who's suddenly feeling the need to have a child of her own. Then just as she becomes pregnant using a sperm bank, she meets the outrageously charming Ken (Jake Lacy), who she thinks might be too young for her. Meanwhile, Alice's neighbour Lucy (Alison Brie) is flirting with the womanising local barman Tom (Anders Holm) as she looks for her perfect man.
Yes, this is another movie in which women define themselves by their aching need for a man. This kind of undermines the "you have to be happy on your own" message, although at least the three main romantic-comedy plots don't fit into the usual cliched structure. The film is packed with frank, girly conversations, exploring how it feels to be single in a society in which coupling up is seen as the ultimate goal. So while commenting on every possible aspect of sex and relationships, the script also tries to say that it's perfectly fine to remain happily unattached. Thankfully, the cast is grounded enough to balance the comedy and romance in realistic situations. Johnson, Brie and Mann all deliver funny, revealing performances as smart women who make silly decisions. Wilson, by contrast, is mere comic relief in the same role she always plays.

'Fifty Shades of Grey' has avoided the restrict NC-17 rating in the U.S.
It is one of the most anticipated movies of 2015 - but of the hype surrounding Fifty Shades of Grey centers on how Sam Taylor-Johnson has chosen to depict the racier passages from E.L James' book. That question may have been answered - at least in part - with the news that the film has avoided the restrictive NC-17 rating from US censors.
Jamie Dornan plays Christian Grey in Fifty Shades of Grey
The movie, about a handsome billionaire and his submissive plaything, has been handed the R rating, referencing "strong sexual content including dialogue, some unusual behavior and graphic nudity." That rating means those under 17 will need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian in the US, though does suggest that the content is milder than initially anticipated.

Heads up, Fifty Shades fans – a new trailer has just been released and this time, things get really kinky. Well, as kinky as possible during a PG trailer. It’s basically 2:37 minutes of body part close-ups, moaning, BDSM gear and the sparse dialogue you already know and love.
The new trailer hints at Christian Grey's troubled past.
Like its predecessor, this trailer boasts a soundtrack by Beyonce, again a haunting version of her worldwide number one 'Crazy In Love'. As for Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan, the film’s two stars look just as young, symmetrical and deer-in-headlight-y as in the previous trailer. The difference is that this one features some more BDSM paraphernalia – namely a leather crop, chains, ice cubes, scarves – this is about as far as the trailer goes.
Budding journalist and college student Anastasia Steele has never been the adventurous type in any respect, so when she is faced with the prospect of interviewing the handsome and frighteningly mysterious young entrepreneur Christian Grey, she is more than a little nervous. The interview doesn't go quite as well as she'd hoped, but it seems Christian has other interests in her. While he doesn't pander to the usual expectations of romance in a relationship, there's something utterly captivating and addictive about him that Anastasia just can't resist - even when he reveals to her his innermost unusual sexual desires. Thriving on the feeling of being in control, all he wants to do is tie Anastasia up and introduce her to a whole new world of sensual experiences. But is she curious enough to sign away her body to a stranger?

Could the erotic romance join the blockbusters club next year?
If you’re not a Fifty Shades of Grey fan, that’s ok, apparently the books and upcoming movie have more than enough of those already. When the PG-13 trailer was released last Thursday, it was mostly met with sarcasm and negative comments and reviews. Because, you know, the internet. But the story of Ana Steele and Christian Grey still has a lot of momentum. Less than a week later, the teaser trailer has hit 36 million million views (as of Wednesday), making it the most watched trailer of 2014.
Fifty Shades fans are coming out of the woodwork to boost the trailer's popularity.
The first book in E. L. James’ erotic romance trilogy has sold over 100 million copies worldwide, so the question is, where did all of those book readers go? The data comes from technology firm Zefr, via The Hollywood Reporter. Views are counted across several videos, uploaded on various official channels.
After multiple stumbles, fans can finally feast their eyes on the full trailer.
This is your moment Fifty Shades of Grey fans – the trailer for Sam Taylor-Johnson’s steamy adaptation finally dropped on Thursday. This should ease any doubts about stars Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan, who both look pretty perfect for their respective roles.
Story aside, the film looks visually polished.
But more than that, the trailer itself is remarkably tame. Set to a remix of Beyonce’s Crazy in Love (like the teaser from last week) the trailer includes Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey’s meeting and their deepening relationship, but it’s all firmly PG until the final three second. You guessed it, that’s when the crops and blindfolds come out and we’re reminded that this is the Fifty Shades of Grey and not just the latest soapy drama churned out by the Hollywood machine.

Some of that mystery is unveiled, however, when he reveals his sexual desires to her, but it seems even then his wishes are not of the usual kind. It's Christian Grey... he's wearing leather... and he's driving a car.
Lace fans and snuff at the ready, Fifty Shades of Grey fans, because a new promotional photo has been released ahead of the upcoming saucy movie. The brand new close-up features actor Jamie Dornan as lead character Christian Grey and has set author EL James' fans tingling with anticipation for Sam Taylor-Johnson's 2015 adaptation.
Pictured sitting in a car, presumed to be the black Audi R8 Spyder detailed in the books, Grey is intently focussed on something in the middle distance. He seems to have eschewed his smart business attire in favour of a more "civilian" black leather jacket and T-shirt combo.
It's unclear whether Grey's gaze is more seductive or scowly but fans online have been speculating that Grey is staring at Ana Steel, his lover, who is played by Dakota Johnson. Many have read deeper into the photo, asking why the film's team have decided to release this particular shot.

Melanie Griffith and Antonio Banderas are sadly splitting after nearly 20 years of marriage. What went wrong for one of Hollywood's longest-running couples?
Power couple Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith, the beacon of hope and an icon of longevity when it come to Hollywood relationships, have split after nearly 19 years together. The news has shocked fans who had always believed that the couple were still happy together in their long marriage, particularly since their affectionate displays just earlier this year. The couple released a joint statement, explaining: “We have thoughtfully and consensually decided to finalise our 20 years’ marriage in a loving and friendly manner, honouring and respecting each other, our family and friends and the beautiful time we have spent together.”
Couples were shocked to hear that Melanie Griffith and Antonio Banderas, pictured holding hands in March, were divorcing
Banderas and Griffith met on the set on their 1995 romantic-comedy film Two Much. At the time he was married to Ana Leza, whom he had wed in 1987. The marriage ended when he and Griffith began a relationship and he divorced Leza in 1996, marrying Griffiths in a small, private ceremony in London just a month later. The pair have a 17-year-old daughter called Stella together, while Griffiths has two older children from previous relationships.
Melanie Griffiths and Antonio Banderas are divorcing after 18 seemingly happy years together. The couple's separation was uncovered by a US entertainment website on Friday (6th June).
Cue the unpleasant tattoo removal! Melanie Griffiths and Antonio Banderas are divorcing and Griffith's heart tattoo of Antonio's name will certainly need to go. Just remember the unfortunate Winona Rider-Johnny Depp 'Wino Forever' debacle. But, besides Griffiths' lack of foresight, why are the couple separating?
Melanie Griffiths and Antonio Banderas are divorcing after 18 years of marriage.
Sources speaking to TMZ, who first broke the news, claim the divorce is amicable. However, Griffiths filed the paperwork and the documents cite irreconcilable differences as the reason for their separation. The 56-year-old actress is also asking for spousal support and joint custody of their daughter Stella. Fortunately, should proceedings take a turn for the worst, custody won't be an issue for long as Stella turns 18 in September. The separation of property may cause some problems as the couple have numerous homes both in the US and in Banderas' native Spain.

We know the cast of 50 Shades of Grey, but it's time to get to know their characters a little better.
Is50 Shades of Grey really not out yet? Nope, we’ve still got ten months to wait until we see Jamie Dornan in all his Christian Grey glory, but that doesn't mean we cant start getting excited now. You’d have to have been living under a rock for the past few months to not know who Christian Grey is, but which other characters will we be seeing when 50 Shades hits the big screen? With an impressive cast, let’s remember, It’s not all about Christian Grey…
Jamie Dornan will play Christian Grey in the upcoming movie
Johnny Depp next stars in 'Transcendence' but his role as Whitey Bulger in 'Black Mass' is creating waves.
Johnny Depp has begun his promotional tour for his new science fiction thriller Transcendance, which opens on April 18. However, journalists appear to be more concerned with another of the actor's upcoming projects, Black Mass - in which he plays convicted mobster Whitey Bulger.
Johnny Depp Plays An Artificial Intelligence Researcher in 'Transcendence'
"I don't think of him as Whitey - it's James 'Whitey' Bulger," Depp said at the Four Seasons Hotel during a press day for Transcendence.
The preview of 'Fifty Shades of Grey', aired at the CinemaCon in Las Vegas earlier this week, is considerably more subtle than the overall subject of the books would suggest.
In a trilogy of books in which spanking and sex contracts are the norm, audiences will be surprised to hear there's little sex in the preview of Fifty Shades of Grey. Whilst fans are busy creating their own trailers in which S&M is definitely present, Universal Pictures, the studio behind the Sam Taylor Johnson directed films, are ensuring the films remain on the "vanilla" side of the sexual tracks.
Jamie Dornan will star in Fifty Shades of Grey as Christian Grey.
It's difficult to understand how a movie about fast cars, tough guys and feisty women could be so little fun to watch. But the filmmakers, working from a popular videogame, have managed to make something only a gaming nerd could love. It's strikingly well shot, with a likeable cast and an eye-catching use of real stuntwork, but the limp script leaves it utterly joyless. Just a tiny hint of self-awareness goes a long way in these kinds of movies.
Our hero is Toby (Paul), a super-talented driver and mechanic stuck in small-town New York while his high school rival Dino (Cooper) makes millions on the racing circuit. Dino has also stolen Toby's ex-girlfriend (Johnson), and rubs salt in the wound by asking Toby to fix up a wildly valuable Mustang for him. Toby needs the cash to save his garage, so takes on the job with his pals (Cudi, Malek and Rodriguez). But things take a dark turn when Dino leaves Toby to take the fall for manslaughter. And when he gets out of prison two years later, Toby vows to get revenge, working with hellcat racing chick Julia (Poots) to enter the underground winner-take-all race organised by a radio deejay (Keaton).
Despite trying to fool us with various plot twists, the film's script is so by-the-books that we can predict everything that will happen next. So as it heads to its jaw-droppingly implausible finale, there isn't a single moment that surprises us. All we can do is try to engage with the characters, but they take themselves so seriously that this isn't easy. Clearly, director Waugh is much more interested in the cars than the people. So at least the driving scenes are visceral and sometimes thrilling in that choreographed stunt-driver sort of way. And they're notable because there isn't a digital effect in sight.

The new and improved Jamie Dornan can now walk just like Chritstian Grey should.
Just because Jamie Dornan is a model, that doesn’t mean he always had the model strut. The Fifty Shades of Grey star revealed as much during his appearance on The Graham Norton Show last night. Apparently, Dornan’s walk wasn’t hopeless, just a little too bouncy for the confident character he’s portraying in Fifty Shades.
Jamie Dornan had the look down, but he couldn't quite master the strut.
"So basically, I've always had a complex with the way I walk," the former model revealed. "I've not always been told I've got a bad walk, but someone's always commented on my walk," he continued. "It's always been a bit like, 'alright. That's how you walk?"

E.L. James' bestselling trilogy Fifty Shades of Grey has become a cultural phenomenon since the publication of the first instalment in 2011. Jamie Dornan plays Christian Grey.
That's Valentine's Day in case anyone needed clarification. It's difficult to consider the excessively controlling and fairly disturbing, Christian Grey a romantic character, but each to their own. Nevertheless, if the producers of the films consider sex contracts and women gaining promotions through their sexual conduct then so be it - we live in a sad and twisted world.
The actor turned first time dad will have his hands full.
Jamie Dornan and his wife Amelia Warner have finally given birth to a child, sources have confirmed to Us Weekly. The actor is said to be "thrilled" to become a first-time father but he will have his hands full bonding with his child whilst filming as lead role Christian Grey in the Fifty Shades of Grey adaptation.

Unlike the departed Charlie Hunnam, Dornan is more than ready to step into Christian Grey's shoes
Jamie Dornan was announced as the replacement for the departed Charlie Hunnam to star in the upcoming 50 Shades of Grey movie adaptation weeks ago, earning him one of Hollywood's most attention-grabbing starring roles to appear on the upcoming film radar. Speaking as the cover star for Entertainment Weekly, Dornan addressed the pressures of his upcoming role, as well as the route he took to get to where he is and how he is preparing himself for the role.
This is by far the most high-profile role the Northern Irish actor has been given in his time as an actor, yet this is a project that Dornan says he is looking forward to, rather than one whose gradual approach he is dreading. After taking over from Hunnam after he unceremoniously walked away from the project in mid-October, Dornan has had little time to prepare for his role, but as he explained in the recent interview, he has already begun putting in the work to achieve the right body look for Grey, as well as finding the right mindset to portray a sexually deviant billionaire.
“I certainly don’t fear it,” Dornan began his talk. “I already got a glimpse into working with [director] Sam [Taylor-Johnson] at the test, and I’d met [co-star] Dakota [Johnson] by then. So I had a glimpse into how I felt it would be if I got the part. None of it scared me.”

Following countless pre-production mishaps, the decision to delay the film's release doesn't really come as a surprise
The much-discussed movie adaptation of 50 Shades of Grey has been hit with a barrage of problems ever since Universal acquired the rights to EL James' erotic novel. With the most recent issue to affect the film - Charlie Hunnam's exit, followed some time after by Jamie Dornan's eventual casting - only recently being resolved, it doesn't really come as too much of a surprise to learn that studio bosses have decided to delay the film's release for another few months.
Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson are the film's stars
Originally slated for a 1 August 2014 release, it has since been announced that the film will instead debut in February 2015, coinciding with Valentines Day. Shooting was put back following Hunnam's exit, having originally been slated to begin this month.
The Fifty Shades of Grey movie cast changes has forced a delay, until Valentine's Day 2015.
It seems the casting debacle concerning the Fifty Shades of Grey movie has greatly affected the production schedule of the film and as such, a major delay has been announced.
Jamie Dornan Will Play Christian Grey in the Fifty Shades of Grey Movie
Originally set for an August 2014 release, Fifty Shades of Grey will now be released on Valentine's Day weekend 2015. The news - exclusively reported by Entertainment Weekly - comes hot the heels of Universal/Focus Features' decision to push back production a month to allow for production to prep with new leading man Jamie Dornan. The Northern Irish actor - who replaced Sons of Anarchy star Charlie Hunnam - plays billionaire Christian Grey.
Grimes will play the brother of Christian Grey in the upcoming adaptation
With the part of Christian Grey finally decided on, again, the film adaption of EL James' 50 Shades of Grey can once again inch towards completion. The first post-Jamie Dornan-casting move to be taken care of is the appointment of his brother, who will be played by True Blood actor Luke Grimes.
Grimes joins Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson as a confirmed cast member
Grimes is the first actor to be hired for the upcoming 50 Shades adaptation since Jame Dornan was cast as the new Christian Grey - replacing Charlie Hunnam - and joins Jennifer Ehle and Dakota Johnson - who will play lead role Anastasia Steele - as one of the confirmed cast members. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Grimes will play Elliot Grey, a pivotal character in the EL James novel, who begins a relationship with Anastasia's best friend, a role that hasn't been cast yet.

The '50 Shades of Grey' movie has cast Jamie Dornan as Christian Grey.
Jamie Dornan has signed on to play Christian Grey in Universal and Focus Films' adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey - the bestselling erotic novel by E.L James. Dornan - an Irish actor with only a modest CV - replaces Charlie Hunnam who infamously backed out of the project just 2 weeks before filming was set to begin in Vancouver.
It's likely that Dornan came to the producer's attentions for his excellent turn in the BBC series The Fall, with The X-Files' Gillian Anderson. Playing a bereavement psychologist moonlighting as serial killer, Dornan proved he could do the whole glassy-eyed maniac thing.
Speaking with Digital Spy of one particularly disturbing scene, the former model said, "I spent a day strangling myself on the back of a door while I masturbated to a driving license of one of my victims. That's not an easy day at the office! And they cut it out! I couldn't believe it-they didn't even tell me. When I first watched the series, it just wasn't there!"

JUST DECIDE ALREADY!
Scott Eastwood, the son of Western movie star Clint Eastwood, is the latest in a long line of names to be associated with the role of Christian Grey in the upcoming, ill-fated film adaptation of EL James' raunchy trilogy, Fifty Shades of Grey. The role has had to be recast after former Grey, Charlie Hunnam, walked out over purported scheduling difficulties.
The New Grey?
At this point in time, been described as the 50 Shades frontrunner pretty much means that you're the only male actor left in Hollywood who hasn't already been associated with the role. The list's too long for us to name them all, but notable rumoured former "frontrunners" have included Ian Somerhalder, Jamie Dorkin, Ryan Gosling and Matt Bomer.

'50 Shades' movie in crisis after leading man Christian Grey walks away.
Actor Jamie Dornan is the latest in a long line of rumored successors to the role of Christian Grey after Charlie Hunnam walked away from the adaptation of author EL James' erotic trilogy. The Irish The Fall actor's name has surfaced to the top of the pile since Hunnam's departure after it was reported that he went for the role the first time round but lost out to the better-known Sons of Anarchy star.
Jamie's Looking A Strong Contender For The '50 Shades' Role.
Hunnam blamed his necessary departure on an "immersive schedule" and explained that he wouldn't have time to properly prepare for the role as a result. This left the studios scrambling and 50 Shades fans wondering who the new face of the Christian Grey would be in the sexually-charged fiction.

The actress is reportedly having a hard time dealing with the role.
It was going rather well for the Fifty Shades of Grey director Sam Taylor-Johnson and her team: after what seemed like ages they'd managed to pull off a great casting decision, choosing two actors on the cusp of big-time fame. However, they were not only hit by a 90k strong petition telling them their choice was wrong; they had to say goodbye to Charlie Hunnam, AKA Christian Grey, and learn their Anastasia Steele, Dakota Johnson, had a touch of the heebie jeebies too.
Dakota Johnson Could Be Thinking Of Leaving '50 Shades.'
Sons of Anarchy star Hunnam's exit was confirmed earlier this week due to an "immersive TV schedule" that would prevent the actor from being able to fully prepare for the role of Christian Grey. The film took a hit, author EL James sent her best, and fans began to wonder whether Hunnam had secretly been influenced by the petition launched to replace him and Johnson with Matt Bomer and Alexis Bledel.
The actor dropped out of the much-discussed movie adaptation earlier this month
Charlie Hunnam has revealed his "relief" at no longer being involved in the 50 Shades of Grey movie adaptation. Universal Pictures confirmed on Saturday, 12 October, that the actor had walked from the project, confirming his exit a month before filming was due to begin on the project. Apparently though, Charlie hasn't been fazed by his exit at all, and if anything he is happy his involvement with it is over.
A source close to the Sons of Anarchy star has spoken with Fox News about the exit and revealed that it is a "big relief" for Charlie to finally be disassociated with the project. When his exit was initially reported, Hunnam's excuse was that he had too busy a schedule to commit to the film, however reports soon emerged saying the actor had gotten cold feet over the role and had become overwhelmed by his sudden thrust into the limelight.
The revelation from the Fox insider confirms that the actor was reluctant to commit to the role in the first place and now that his part in the film has been officially discontinued, he apparently couldn't be more relieved.
Attention now turns to finding the right actor to play Mr Christian Grey.
The 50 Shades of Grey movie appears to be in turmoil with just over two weeks before a huge crew descends on Vancouver for the first official day of shooting, with Universal and Focus Feature expecting to release the movie - based on E.L. James' erotic novel - in August, 2014.

Following the departure of Charlie Hunnam, the producers of the 'Fifty Shades of Grey' movie are frantically searching for a new Grey.
Charlie Hunnam is out! The actor sensationally left behind his role as Christian Grey in the upcoming FiftyShades of Grey movie adaptation following varied reports stating his schedule was too packed up already and that he had gotten cold feet over the immense pressure of the role. Now the race is one to find another Christian Grey and the shortlist of potential candidates seems to keep on growing.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Alexander Skarsgard is among the favorites to succeed Hunnam, with his steamy scenes in True Blood and his obvious sex appeal boding well with producers. The same report also states that Northern Irish actor Jamie Dornan is also in line to take on the job, however neither of these rumors have been confirmed yet. THR have also reported that Oscar-nominated screenwriter Patrick Marber (Notes on a Scandal) has been brought in to adjust the script to accomodate another actor.
Like Charlie Hunnam, the actress is finding the pressures of the job too much to handle
Dakota Johnson is feeling apprehensive about her part on the upcoming movie adaptation of EL James' 50 Shades of Grey. Like her former co-star Charlie Hunnam, the immense pressure that comes with the coveted role is proving to be a heavy weight to bear, one that she is finding increasingly difficult to keep balance with.
Last week, the 50 Shades of Grey movie was delivered a major blow when lead actor Hunnam dropped out of the project. His reasons for leaving were initially said to be because of his overwhelming work load, however ater reports stated that his exit was more to do with the sheer pressure that came with the job and the limelight that seemed to follow him everywhere since his part in the project was confirmed. Now reports are suggesting that Johnson too could be on the way out.
"Dakota is having a very hard time dealing with all the press," a source close to the actress told E! News. "When she first got the role, it was way too much for her."

'50 Shades' adds its newest cast member. Who will she be joining?
Actress Jennifer Ehle has become the latest name to be added to the Fifty Shades of Grey movie adaptation cast list. The 43 year-old Pride and Prejudice actress will apparently play Anastasia Steele's mother, Carla, in the screen version of EL James' highly successful and saucy erotic trilogy.
Jennifer Ehle Is The Latest Name To Be Added To The '50 Shades' Cast.
Ehle's role will be that of a four-time married Southern woman who takes no nonsense, according to Deadline. The movie will be based on James' storyline of a naïve and sexually inexperienced student who is enrolled by a sadomasochistic billionaire who makes her his sex slave.
Ehle will star as mother to Dakota Johnson's Anastasia Steele in the film adaptation for the EL James novel
The Fifty Shades of Grey cast list keeps on growing, and the latest actor to be assigned a role in the anticipated adaptation of the erotic novel is Jennifer Ehle. The actress will appear as Anastasia Steele's mother, a passing role in the novels but one that is expected to become much more prominent in the film due to Elhe's appointment.
As confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter, Ehle is the third name to be attached to the movie project, after Dakota Johnson was cast as Anastasia Steele and Charlie Hunnam was given the role of the BDSM-obsessed billionaire Christian Grey. Her appointment also adds further weight to the project, which had begun to look as though it was destined to fail before filming had even begun as producers at Universal and Focus Features struggled to find a cast and crew when the rights to the book were initially purchased.
Things are running much smoothly now, and with Sam Taylor-Wood signed on to direct and Kelly Marcel having reportedly finished the screenplay for the film, work on the project is due to begin before the end of 2013. The film is being produced by Michael De Luca, Dana Brunetti and the novel's author EL James.

Jennifer Ehle has been cast as Anastasia Steele's mother in Fifty Shades of Grey. The actress is best known for her role as Elizabeth Bennett (starring opposite Colin Firth) in the BBC's 90s production of Pride and Prejudice. She has been cast, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed, as Carla the mother of college student Anastasia who is drawn into an unusual sexual relationship with young, handsome billionaire Christian Grey.

The best-selling books, written by E.L. James, are to be adapted into a film due to be released next year. The trilogy follows the romantic relationship between Christian and Anastasia, particularly on his more unconventional sexual habits, namely S&M. The books made E.L. James the biggest earning author last year, according to the Forbes list.

Who auditioned for the Fifty Shades of Grey roles, besides Charlie Hunnam and Dakota Johnson?
The Fifty Shades of Grey auditions were shrouded in mystery - nobody really knew who auditioned, until now of course. With Charlie Hunnam and Dakota Johnson now the proud owners of two of the biggest roles of 2014, the actors and actresses who failed to convince Universal that they were right for Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele are beginning to come out of the woodwork.
Speaking to Cosmopolitan.com at the Alice + Olivia presentation for the New York Fashion Week, Chloe Bridges - best known for her role in The Carrie Diaries - dished on her audition for the role of Anastasia, and it ain't pretty.
"There were three pages of sides that I was going to audition with," she explained. "I read them and then was like, I really can't do this."

Charlie Hunnam is excited to get cracking of "Fifty Shades."
Some fans of Fifty Shades of Grey might disagree, but it does seem like Sons of Anarchy’s Charlie Hunnam is the perfect choice to play the racy role of Christian Grey – in that he’s willing to do it, at least.
The film’s director Sam Taylor-Johnson still hasn’t revealed how much of the sexual content of E. L. James’ novel will make it on screen, but it’s likely to be quite a lot, considering that sexual scenes make up most of the trilogy.
This might also be part of the reason why several actors and actresses turned down the lead roles before Hunnam and co-star Dakota Johnson agreed.
'Sons of Anarchy' star Charlie Hunnam has been cast as the male lead in the screen adaptation of 'Fifty Shades of Grey', and we think he couldn't be more ideal!
So fans all over the world have waited more than a year for news on the 'Fifty Shades of Grey' movie adaptation, but there was a definite resounding disappointment when author EL James finally spilled the main cast over Twitter earlier this week.
Charlie Hunnam Pacific Rim Premiere
With everyone expecting one of a series of major actresses for the role of small, dark-haired, big blue-eyed Anastasia Steele, Alexis Bledel being the favourite, the fact that tall, blonde 'Ben and Kate' star Dakota Johnson was selected caused more than a flicker of annoyance among serious readers. However, probably the more outrageous side of the update was who would take on the challenge of the dark and mysterious Christian Grey: not Matt Bomer or Robert Pattinson as fans had hoped, but 'Sons of Anarchy' actor Charlie Hunnam. As the world reached for Google for a reminder as to who this Newcastle born 33-year-old was, his welcome into the project became the coldest he'd ever received.
Here's the low-down for those unfamiliar with 'The Social Network' actress.
The swirling rumours have been confirmed: Dakota Johnson will take the lead female role in the movie adaptation of EL James' erotic trilogy, Fifty Shades of Grey. The 23-year old Social Network acress will join Pacific Rim actor Charlie Hunnam in bringing to life the bondage whips-and-chains-filled story.
Dakota Johnson Has Been Picked For The 50 Shades Role.
Many actresses publically distanced themselves from the role, which will inevitably involve plenty of unhinged sex scenes, including Mila Kunis and Emma Watson, who probably weren't even offered the role, but wanted to make sure everyone knew it wasn't their kind of character. The books have been extremely successful, placing EL James at the top of Forbes richest author list of the last year. However, there has been plenty of criticism too, where James' writing, storyline, characters and just about everything else have come under fire as the book was branded "mommy porn."
Would 'The Social Network' actress make a good choice?
It's less than a year until the Fifty Shades of Grey movie is due in cinemas yet there doesn't seem to have been any firm casting decisions made. The movie, which will be an adaptation from EL James' best-selling erotic fiction of the same name, will have British director Sam Taylor-Johnson (Nowhere Boy) at its helm but nothing more appears to have been set in concrete.
Will Dakota Johnson Really Take The Lead 50 Shades Character?
The role of Christian Grey - the billionaire with a BDSM fetish - has been the most media-covered role so far, with Ian Somerhalder wanting the role, Garrett Hedlund rejecting the role and Taylor-Johnson's own husband, Aaron, rumored for the part. However, it has emerged that we may know who plays student-turned-sex-slave Anastasia Steele first, namely Dakota Johnson.
One of those mopey independent dramas that drifts through a mere hint of a plot, this film is worth a look for its unusual setting and a superb central performance from Paul Dano (last seen in Looper). Filmmaker Kim focusses so closely on him that everything else on screen kind of fades into the background, turning the movie into a deeply personal odyssey. Although there isn't much more to it than that.
Dano plays an aimless rocker named Joby, who travels to a snowy town to settle his divorce from Claire (Levieva). She's so angry with him that she won't even see him for the sake of their young daughter Ellen (Mandigo), preferring to talk through lawyers. And since she knows Joby is deeply in debt, she makes a cruel offer: he can have half the value of their marital home if he signs over sole custody of Ellen, whom he barely knows anyway. But this isn't an easy decision, and Joby can only get so much help from his inexperienced lawyer (Heder). As part of the negotiations, Joby gets to spend two hours with his daughter. And then he has to make up his mind.
Dano is superb as the hapless Joby, who finds it so difficult to concentrate on his life that he's about to be thrown out of his own band. As a result, his life seems to be one mess after another, leading to this key moment when he needs to snap to attention. So it's especially intriguing that we can feel the internal pull toward his daughter: he wants to be a good dad, but is terrified of doing something wrong. And the film finds a lively counterpoint in Heder's comically clueless lawyer, another grown man who is painfully ill-equipped to face the real world.
