Child star Dakota Fanning and her sister Elle have withdrawn from the upcoming movie MY SISTERS KEEPER.

The War of the Worlds star has reportedly left the Nick Cassavetes project because she is unwilling to shave her head to play a leukaemia sufferer.

ABIGAIL BRESLIN, who can currently be seen in DEFINATELY MAYBE, and SOFIA VASSILIEVA, who appeared in the ELOSIE series are lined up to replace the Fanning sisters in the adaptation of JODI PICOULT's bestselling novel.

Other stars attached to the movie include Cameron Diaz who will star as the girls' mother and Alec Baldwin who will play the family's lawyer.

JOAN CUSACK is also thought to have a role – although her exact part has yet to be announced.

The movie sees a young girl (Breslin) suing her family for medial emancipation when it emerges that she was only conceived to help prolong her ill elder sister's (Vassilieva) life.

Filming is expected to begin in March.
